"That's the Doc?" Graham asked.
"Yeah." I said pulling my phone away. "I have some pictures of her other regenerations too, but I'll get into those later." I put my phone back in my pocket before turning back to O.
"Do you even know where she's from?" O asked.
"Well we try to ask and she keeps on changing the subject." Graham said. "(Y/n) won't say a word either."
"That's because it's not my business to tell. It's a touchy subject, so let's just leave it at that." I said back. "The Doctor has her secrets. As do we all."
"My shelf on the Doctor is over there." He point to it. There were stacks of overly thick files. There were so many it seemed they might fall off. By some form of doctor suess logic they were still in place. "Everything I could gather. A lot of inconsistencies, but it's very very interesting." He said excitedly. Graham's eyes widened and he looked between O and myself. "Want to have a look?" Graham nodded his head and I sighed shaking my head.
The Tardis doors opened and the Doctor walked out carrying a glass pitcher. "Come on, you three. "Everyone out front. Lots to catch up on." She said then looked to the pitcher in her hand. "I made iced tea... possibly."
"Oh dear lord." I said before using my hand to rub my temples. She rushed outside a grin on her face and I got up to follow. The Doctor grabbed a laptop and flipped it open as she began to decipher all the evidence we gathered. She sat down in front of it and examined everything. I leaned on the support beam behind her, arms crossed watching her work. I'll admit seeing her so focused and determined was attractive to me.
"Daniel Barton's DNA registers as 93% human." The Doctor said and I nodded. We knew that much, so she went back to work.
"Which makes him what, Alien?" Graham asked.
"No." O protested in shock. "It can't be, I've been through Barton's records. There are thousands of photos of him online through the ages." He said shaking his head. "If he's not human, that's one impressive legend he's put together."
"Not impossible though." Yaz said.
"All right, MI6, help me with something, cause I can't get me nut around it." Graham said drawing attention to him. I however just listened, choosing instead to watch the Doctor work. "C told us that Barton's company is more powerful than most countries. That can't be true."
"Governments these days are full of people who don't understand technology, so countries rely on outsourcing their tech requirements and expertise to private companies that transcend national boundaries." O looked at all of us, even the Doctor stopped to listen. "Companies like VOR. VOR seeps into every corner of modern technology. We're talking leisure, commercial, military. It leads the way on face-tagging, biodata, robotics. Then there's all the military systems across the globe that rely on servers operated by VOR."
"With just a push of a button and a line of computer code, the world could be in nuclear war." I said and O nodded.
"So do we think Barton's behind the assassination of C? And attacking us in the car? And is in league with these aliens?" Ryan asked.
Before I could answer and give my opinion the Doctor spoke up and asked a question instead. "What did he say to those creatures in his office?"
"That they should have been discreet." Yaz said and the Doctor looked from her to me with a raised brow. I nodded my head and she looked back. It seems the Doctor was still mad at her.
"So it was like he was in control of them?"
"It was hard to tell." I said. "It could have been a mutual agreement gone bad." The laptop beeped and the Doctor immediately turned her attention back to it.
