Rayaan couldn't help but agree. The truth is he never thought about marriage and stuff since he started earning money. He was so engrossed in his life that marriage never occurred as a thought. But now the thought was giving him a giddy feeling. He wanted some time to make up his mind about the wedding.

"Okay" The word rolled out his tongue as he sat there reminiscing the time when he attended his friend's wedding. A few of them even have a child.

Maybe it was time for him to have his own family.

Chirping excitedly his mom ran out of the office dancing to her tunes letting him drown himself in the thought of his future. Finally, he was thinking about it.

Just yesterday he said okay and today he is sitting at the girl's house. Why is his mother so fast in works like these? He wondered.

As the morning rolled in, he was back to the thought of not marrying.

The thought of marriage was scaring him now. He wanted to run off this place and never come back again but how can he forget he himself said yes about the meeting?

His mother and the woman sitting in front of them seemed like friends since they couldn't stop chatting. From tea and coffee to saree and shopping, they were talking about everything and didn't seem to stop anytime soon.

In between the middle-aged men asked him about his qualifications and job.

A yawn was threatening to escape his lips when a little girl wrapped in a pastel pink shirt and black pants dashed inside the house. She was almost going to land herself on the table but control her legs at the right time.

Her eyes widened comically looking at the guests sitting there.

"Sorry!" She almost yelled running inside the house.

"My daughter. She is a little crazy" The woman smiled it off.

Little? Rayaan scoffed.

The girl seemed weird. Seemed like a cartoon character.

"I think we should let the children meet. " His Mother, Rasika said softly.

Nodding at her, the woman called out aloud " Meera"

"Ji " The weird girl appeared again.

"Show him around the house, will you? " She asked her and to which she nodded.

Rayaan frowned at her. They were asking this particular weird child to show him around when it should be his "supposed bride".

Nonetheless, he got up following her.

For some reason, even he was getting nervous when she was wiping her hand on her trousers repeatedly. He didn't know why was she so nervous. Her sister or cousin whosoever his supposed bride is may get this nervous not her. He was aware of the aura he created around himself when he walked with a stoic face.

As they kept strolling around, he expected her sister to join them. But nobody came. He already framed an impression of his supposed bride as a not-so-punctual one.

When they passed the corridor his eyes fell on a photo frame.

Then another

And another

In all the photos there, she was the only one present except her Mom and Dad.

He sighed looking at her.

No way his mother is looking at this malnourished child as his bride.

She looks underage.

His nose flared up looking at the girl in front of him. At this age, she should study and here she is getting proposals for marriage?

Controlling his anger he went to the garden with her.

There was nervousness in the air. He was embarrassed by the fact his mother chose her for him. They will look like a father-daughter duo if stood together. And what this girl and her parents might be thinking is that he is a pervert to agree to meet this girl.

The thought alone made him angry.

"In which class you are? " He asked gritting his teeth.
