"Oh, my. He should have brought the militants along with him!" Niragi sneered, and you adjusted your position so that Arisu's body would block the view of Niragi and, hopefully, also put you out of his line of sight.

Chishiya looked amused, and you only narrowed your eyes at him before you turned your attention back to the matter at hand.

"What's going to happen to the Beach?"

Mira spoke up, "keep this a secret from the rest. They'll be shaken by this."

Kuzuryu stepped forward, arms crossed, "I'll be the next leader since I'm Number two."

"Wait a second," Niragi swaggered over, "shouldn't the strongest person be the leader?"

The room was silent. Kuzuryu was doing a careful job at keeping his expression neutral.

"We're the ones who have been getting rid of the traitors, yet we've been treated as shadows the entire time. This unfair treatment ends today!"

"If Number One dies, everyone moves up by a number. We agreed on this rule."

"The snobbish dictator is dead. The power has shifted, hasn't it? Let's just be democratic and go with the majority," he addressed the room, "who agrees that Aguni should be the new leader?"

No one moved, and it was so awkward that you started sweating bullets.

Niragi had mock disappointment written all over his face, "what a bad reaction. Last Boss."

Careful not to make any dramatic movements, you shifted your eyes over to the male straightening up from his position against the wall. His eyes darted, finding a target and you quickly averted your eyes.

Just like in the TV show, he unsheathed his sword and threatened Ann with it first. His sword moved until it was inches from her neck, and you felt yourself frown despite your best efforts at trying to stay neutral.

"I'll ask again. Who agrees that Aguni should be the new leader?"

Ann glanced at Last Boss, swallowing, she slowly raised her hand.

"This..." Mira started, "is not a majority rule."

Niragi scoffed, "it is, isn't it?" Walking around her, he stuck his gun under her chin, "you're free to vote after all."

Mira took a deep breath, looking resigned. She raised her hand.

"What about the former Number Two over there? What will you do?"

He also raised his hand, and you watched as Niragi brandished his gun back and forth with people reluctantly yet slowly raising their hands.

"What about you? Are you looking down on us, Chishiya?"

Sensing what was about to happen next, you shifted again to the other side of Arisu, anything to get out of Niragi's line of fire. The psycho noticed your movement, and his eyes bore into you before Chishiya spoke in that condescending tone of his.

"But you guys really are stupid."

Attention diverted, he stepped even closer and jutted his gun under Chishiya's chin, "those eyes of yours really piss me off."

Chishiya blinked slowly. You wanted to smack him for being so cheeky in a life and death situation.

"It's so condescending."

Chishiya raised both hands, face still smug, "I vote for Aguni to be the leader. Are you all right with losing me as a precious "yes" vote?"

You took the opportunity to raise your hand while they were distracted, and you grabbed Arisu's hand to force him to raise his. He startled, fighting against your pull before seeing your semi-desperate facial expression and kept his hand raised.

"Well, I hope you reflect on how you should act in the future."

Niragi pulled away, glancing at us and narrowing his eyes before moving on.

"Suddenly everyone's voting "yes." So the new leader is decided, right?"

Mira put her hand down, glaring at Niragi, "Hatter would not allow this. If he were alive, he would not have allowed this."

Niragi leered, "But he's dead. The dead won't know what's going on. See?"

He aggressively started hammering the butt of his gun into the corpse, and you couldn't help but wince at the display. Arisu flinched back, and you patted his arm in solace.

"From today onwards, I will be the Beach's new king."

Nirahi looked delighted, "Isn't this wonderful? Now, boss. What's left is the succession ceremony."

He leaned in, mischief, excitement and craze rolled into one, "let's open the black envelope."
