'Tis The Damn Season

Chapter 6

"I think I'm going for the steak, it's amazing here." Steve says

"I'll take your word, so I'm getting that." Natasha says

A waiter came to bring their wine and took their orders. Natasha reached over the table to grab Steve's hand.

"Thank you for taking me out." Natasha says

"No problem, I sometimes need a break too from my family." Steve says

"I get why." Natasha says and chuckled, "And thank you for inviting me to spend Christmas with you."

"Well actually my mother invited you." Steve interrupted

"What I'm trying to say, is thank you for still giving me a nice Christmas. If I didn't met you that night in the bar I would've spend the holidays alone." Natasha says, "This might not be a real relationship, but it's nice to be around people during these days."

"Of course." Steve says, "And I'm glad that I met you too, not because my family would finally meet my fake girlfriend, but now I got someone to talk to besides my assistant, who is also my best friends fiance."

"Does she know this is fake?" Natasha says

"Yes. And I told her that once we stage our breakup she can only tell Sam the truth." Steve says

"That's nice of you." Natasha says

"Now let's toast to a pleasant evening." Steve says and raised his wine glass.

"Cheers." Natasha says and let her glass touch Steve's. She took a sip of the wine. "Damn, this is good."

"I should get a bottle of this." Steve says, "I'll ask Thor what he gave us."

"Get me a bottle too." Natasha says

"Wouldn't that be a nice Christmas gift?" Steve says and smirked.

When dinner arrived Natasha ordered a glass of vodka and Steve ordered some water, since he still has to drive.

"This steak is really good." Natasha says with a mouth full.

"I know." Steve says, "You got some sauce besides your lip."

"Oh." Natasha says and wiped at the wrong side.

"Let me." Steve says, he grabbed his napkin and wiped away the sauce from her lips.

"Thanks." Natasha says and blushed.

After dinner the two got ice cream from the Christmas market. They walked around until it got too cold, so they sat in the car eating their ice cream.

"Did you like your ice cream?" Steve asks

"Yes, very much. These flavors are way better than in New York." Natasha says

"Well they make it themselves." Steve says

"How do you know?" Natasha asks

"Thor's adoptive brother owns Infinity Conez, and Loki makes his own ice cream. He was a kid full of mischief, but eventually after high school he started his own business." Steve says

"Did y'all went to school together or something?" Natasha asks

"Oh, yeah. Everyone you met till now were and are my buddies." Steve says

"That's nice, I'm not in contact anymore with my high school buddies." Natasha says

"In a small town you just grow up with everyone, we've always been in the same school district." Steve says

"I grew up in a big city, so when I changed schools, I changed friends." Natasha says

There was a silence for a while and Steve started to drive back to the house. Once they arrived it was just after midnight and everywhere in the house were the lights off.
