Hands of creation (A steven universe x original male diamond character story)

Bed

"I don't like seeing you like this," she admitted in a quiet voice. And I felt for her, I really did. 

"I appreciate it, Blue," I replied, giving her a small smile. "But there's really nothing you can do right now. I just need to let my gem heal itself."

She looked at me skeptically, as if she didn't believe my words. But she didn't argue any further and instead, she reached over and gently brushed a strand of hair out of my face.

"Okay," she finally said, her voice still laced with concern. "But you will tell me if there is anything I can do, right?"

"Yes," I said, giving her another small smile. "I really appreciate it."

She gave me one last nod before she rested on her knees and looked down at her hands that'd bunched up the cloth of her robe. I watched her for a moment before I closed my eyes and let my mind wander.

It was a strange feeling, being confined to this bed and being so vulnerable since I could just snap this all away in the matter of moments. I'd spent so much time just numbing out my ability to feel any sort of pain that sitting here and letting myself revel in the injury that I sustained, just made me feel all the more human.

But as much as I hated it, I knew it was necessary. I had to let my body heal normally in order to make it align with how the biology of gems worked, with the whole only diamonds being able to break diamonds thing. 

I took a deep breath and let my thoughts wander, trying to ignore the aches and pains that were still present in my body. I knew it was going to be a sort of dent in the smooth road that I made for myself, but I think I could make it work in my favor. Maybe make a lesson out of this later when I actually go and speak with White, and then Yellow and then so on and so forth. 

But looking at Blue's somber expression and still feeling bad that I was nullifying the amount of emotions she was able to feel because I didn't want her power of making other gems tear up to spark up, I closed my eyes briefly before opening them, offering her something she could do.

"But if you do want to do something, you can cuddle with me." I simply said after a moment of silence. Though I knew that she had no idea what that was since I haven't introduced that concept to them yet."Cuddle?" She would echo with expected confusion. "How..?" She was much larger than me so I had to make it so she didn't crush my already weakened form.

"Just come lay down beside me and put your arm around me. It's like hugging but in a more comfortable position." I explained.

She hesitantly complied as I could read that she did not want to put any further strain on me, her body barely fitting on the bed as she lay down beside me and gently slid the covers over the two of us. I shifted over to rest my head on her chest, listening to the steady beating of her gem as she placed her arm around me. I felt the tension in my body slowly start to melt away as her warmth and comfort enveloped me.

"Is this what cuddling is?" She asked, her voice low and soothing. Though confusion was still evident.

"Yes." I answered, my voice soft and content. "It's a way to show affection and comfort towards someone. To make them feel safe and loved."

I could feel her nod as she adjusted her arm slightly to make me more comfortable. Her long fingers gently curled and felt along my robe.

"I like it." She said after a few moments of comfortable silence. "It makes me feel.. peaceful."
