Chapter Seven: Spyfall part 2

"I'll do it!" Graham offered sliding down the aisle grabbing seats along the way.

"Now pay attention. Do this fast. I'm worried you might lose me if there is a power surge." Just as she said there was a power surge.

"I've lost her!" Ryan said I looked down at my phone and gently pressed the cursor upwards. I hit it a couple times until the plane leveled out. Graham closed the door and we could finally take a short breath. "Hey look!" Ryan said looking down at my phone. It began running through different systems. "Barton must have programmed in a flight pattern, before he left the cockpit. Looks like this app is keying into it."

"How did the Doctor do this?" Yaz asked.

"We're time travelers, she'll find a way in our future to help us now." I told her.

"That's great and all, but now we've got to stay on a plane without a cockpit till it decides where to land." Graham said.

"Right." I said handing Ryan my phone.

"Where you going?" He asked as I stood up.

"Get a drink." I said causally. "Just hold onto that and don't touch anything." I said walking to the back of the plane. I found a small freezer and opened it. "Hello." I said excitedly as I saw a variety of different liquors. "Jackpot, want anything Graham?"

"Why not, we nearly died, I need something for my nerves." He said and I smirked pulling out two glasses. I grabbed a bottle of whiskey, it was definitely a vintage bottle, very expensive. It smelt like alcohol but just underneath that initial burn was a charred oak smell. I poured just a little bit in both glasses before putting it away and bringing Graham his glass. He took it and downed it. I followed his lead and finished my glass as well.

"I wonder how the Doctor is doing on her end?" I asked setting my glass down

"Hi, Doctor." The Doctor said to herself as she looked around. This place seemed to look and feel exactly how you described it. Vast nothingness, just empty. "Oh, hi." She said back to herself. "How are you doing?" She asked taking in a few breaths to calm herself. "Good, just talking to myself to prove I'm still alive." She looked around and couldn't see anything. "I was wondering, what would you say to the others if they were here?" You and the others were nowhere to be seen, meaning you were all still trapped on the plane. "Don't panic." She took in a breath again as she finally managed to calm herself. "Of course I'm saying it as much to myself as I am to them. Always a good reminder when your alone... in the unknown... all hope lost." She pulled out her sonic and began scanning the area. She was getting nothing. No readings, no feedback of any kind.

"Won't work in here. Why not?" She asked putting the sonic down. "Could be a clue. A clue to what?" She asked herself. Suddenly a light ran down the pole like structure a few feet away. Once it hit the ground it darted off in a different direction. "What.. was that? Interesting. Useful! Maybe..." Another one darted down and past her. "Another! Even better! What are you?" She asked as she approached it skeptically. "Pathways? Signals? Synapses?" She asked herself as her mind ran through all the countless possibilities. "I could be inside something. Oh, I hop it's not a liver. I hate being inside livers. People always get so offended. 'What are you doing in my liver again?'"

"Hello?" Another voice called.

"Hello?" The Doctor called back wondering if she was hearing things.

"Hello?" The woman called again.

The Doctor took off in the direction she last heard it come from. Though it was hard to tell with the echo of this place. "Can you hear me?" The Doctor called loudly. "I'm trying to find you. Somehow." She was panting for breath as she ran through what seemed like an ending void. The Doctor saw a figure and ran towards it. Before her stood a woman in clothes from what appeared to be late 1800's early 1900's.
