"Everyone is staring," she mumbled, looking over at her best friend.

The one teacher that taught her science course was less than willing to help her. Maddy had always had issues with math and science and without jay, it had become even harder. jay could help her with the math on facetime but she had to look elsewhere for science.

Hailey came and picked her up at 5, taking her back to the district until she finished her work for the day. If they didn't have a case, Maddy would sit at Jay's old desk and finish her work. She'd finished everything but her science assignment and it was obvious that she was struggling.

"Ugh!" She groaned, ripping the page out and starting over again. She only worked on it for a minute or two before she was ripping that page out as well.

"What's going on?" Hailey asked, looking over at Maddy.

"Can't figure this out. And Jerkinson won't help me," She sighed, using the nickname she's come up with for her teacher, Mrs. Jackinson.

"Call uncle Will. He might even be able to take you home," She suggested, nodding at the teen's phone.

"I'm mostly tired of her. Why be a teacher if you don't want to help your students?" Maddy sighed, grabbing her phone and pulling up her messages with Will.

Maddy: Hey uncle Will. Are you working?

Uncle Will: Nope. What's up kiddo?

Maddy: I really need help with my science homework and my teacher sucks. Mom told me to see if you could help.

Uncle Will: Yeah. Where are you?

Madd: District with mom

Uncle Will: Want me to come get you?

Maddy: If you can.

Uncle Will: Be there in 20

"Will's coming to get me," Maddy told her mother, packing her science stuff up before playing a game on her phone, "Is dad calling tonight?"

"I don't know honey. I hope so but you know he's busy," Hailey sighed.

"I guess," She sighed, adding a little shrug, "I just really miss him today. I mean, I do every day but I really do today,"

"I know sweetie," Hailey nodded, "I miss him too,"

Maddy nodded, sighing as she waited for Will.

Platt soon called up to the bullpen, letting Hailey know that Will was there for Maddy.

"Will's here baby," Hailey said as she hung up her phone, "I'll come pick you up when I get done here,"

"Okay, thanks, mom. Love you," Maddy said as he hugged her mom and grabbed her things. She went down the steps slowly and through the gate where she saw Will.

"Hey, kid,"

"Hey, uncle Will," Maddy smiled, hugging him before they headed out to his car.
