Shifting awake Gabby heard a voice. "Don't be afraid. It'll be over soon. Just try and stay... very still."
Gabby slowly opened her eyes and became aware of her surroundings she was laying on the cold mall floor with Billy over them. El was next to her, waking up as well.
Everything was so blurry until she saw the Mind Flayer crawling out from the broken ceiling while snarling. Gabby suddenly realized what was about to happen, gasping she began to wriggle around on the floor trying to move away from it but the girl was too tired to get up.
They once again tightly shut their eyes and grabbed each other's hands tightly as a tentacle came out of the Mind Flayer's large, gory, tooth-filled mouth. It was coming towards the two but then they heard a bang and bright lights it pulled away.
"Flay this, you ugly piece of shit!" Gabby heard her boyfriend yell.
Gabby looked up and saw Lucas with a ton of fireworks. He then threw another one into its mouth and the Mind Flayer stumbled backward, screeching in pain.
Lucas, Will, Nancy, Jonathan, Steve, and Robin all threw fireworks at the Mind Flayer. When Gabby turned around, she saw Billy screaming in pain as black veins appeared all over his body. Being connected to the Mind Flayer feeling the same pain.
With enough energy and Billy being distracted and in pain, El and Gabby started trying to crawl away from him. But he noticed and started dragging the two back by their legs, making them scream. The screams of Mind Flayer being that close was too much for Gabby
As Billy was looking over to the two in hate, looking into his the two decided to remind him of a happy memory from his past hoping that would get him out of this state of mind.
"Seven... feet..." Gabby muttered weakly reminding him of the beach, "You told her... the wave was seven feet." Remembering made Gabby and El start to cry.
"You ran to her, on the beach," El sniffled, "There were seagulls. She wore a hat... with a blue ribbon. A long dress... with a blue and red flower."
"Y-yellow sandals... covered in sand she was pretty," Gabby sobbed, "She was really pretty. And you... you were happy." Gabby noticed tears starting to form in Billy's eyes. Gabby placed her hand on his cheek as he started to cry as he was remembering and fighting against the Mind Flayer.
When Billy looked up and saw how mad the Mind Flayer was, he slowly stood up and glared at it in anger. The Mind Flayer seemed to notice that he was no longer on its side with a roar it released a tentacle from its mouth towards the two.
"No!" Billy yelled as he caught it and held it back from getting to them. He roared in anger.
Sadly, the Mind Flayer released more tentacles, stabbing his stomach as he screamed in pain. Gabby and El watched in shock as the Mind Flayer continued sending tentacles and they pin onto his body as the final tentacle plunges through Billy's chest.
He sank to the floor as his vest was stained with dark red blood that was also pouring out of his mouth. The Mind Flayer stabbed him once more, right in the chest!
"Billy!" Max screeched from behind them.
The tentacles leave Billy's body, and he drops to the floor. The Mind Flayer went into a livid frenzy, wobbling around and storming all over the place before collapsing to the floor. It doesn't move again. The gate must be closing.
