"Let me walk you." I said as he took his hand off me.

He laughed.

We made our way to Neteyam's hut, each step we got closer, the more worried I became. I knew Jake was already fueled by the fight from yesterday, I cannot imagine how much more angry he would be. Soon we were right outside. Neteyam took a deep breath before walking in, I followed behind.

"Neteyam! Y/n!" Tuk's voice immediately called out, hugging her older brother tight before making my way to me. I smile.

"Where the hell were you." Jake came through, his voice was stern.

"I'm sorry dad. It won't happen again." His father now right in front of him, Neteyam looked down.

Tuk held my hand tight, her expression was of concern for her brother. I gently graze my thumb over hers in hopes of comforting her. Behind Jake was Neytiri, Kiri and Lo'ak. They all sat around their breakfast, there was nothing they could do. The worry on their faces were apparent.

Jake drove a finger into Neteyam's chest, "Damn right it won't happen again. Because the next tim-"

I could not bear to watch this any longer. I interrupt.

"Please. He was only keeping me company, no harm was done." I spoke, my tone and expression was pleading.

Neteyam looked back at me, he seemed surprised. It hurt me to see him being spoken to like this, he had done nothing wrong.

"You were out with him?" Jake's attention now on me, his tone distinctively softer.

"Yes." I reply.

"Tell me, what do your parents think." My heart dropped. Neteyam interfered.

"Dad-"

"You stay quiet." Jake shot him down.

I did not know what to say. What would my parents think?

"I.." I could not reply to such thing, my gaze turing low. It pained me to even think about it.

I felt everyone's eyes on me as they waited for an answer.

"They.. They would be worried." I managed to mutter out. Truth is, I do not know.

"Yes. Worried," He turned back to Neteyam. "You could have been dead for all we knew." Referring to his family.

"I understand." He replied.

I held a saddened face, not only was Neteyam being scolded at in front of me, but the topic of my parents stung. I noticed Tuk's gaze on me, innocent and empathetic. Loosening her grip on my hand to hug me. I hug her back, surprisingly comforting. She had no clue of my situation, just sensed I needed that comfort.

"Ma Jake," Neytiri called out. "That is enough."

Jake opened his mouth as if to say something, quickly closing it as he took Neytiri's words into consideration. A sigh escaping his mouth.

"Get out now." He spoke.

"Yes sir." Neteyam replied.

He grabbed my hand before walking out of the hut together.

"Neteyam?" My voice was small.

I cannot explain the emotions I was going through in that moment. Mad? Sad? Whatever it was, it made my eyes sting. I wish Jake had not brought up such a sensitive topic for me, but I cannot blame him, he did not know of my past.

My thoughts were interrupted when Neteyam stopped in his tracks. He still held my hand turning toward me. I can tell he noticed the glum in my eyes, it took everything in me to not just break down.
