Operation Preparation

"You know what you need to try? The Alibert Special!" He decided. "You will never taste anything as good as the Alibert Special. You can take a guess who invented it."

"So what's the special?" This does sound appealing to your ears, it deserves some thought.

"You have to wait till you try it, otherwise it ruins the mystery of what's so special about it. Sorry Y/n," he pats your shoulder. "But I'm sure if you hang around us long enough, your bound to have it eventually."

"Next!"

Everyone took a step forward. "Aw man, just my luck." You sigh. "My stomach's craving for that now."

"As my father used to say, 'Nibble everyday, live to see another day.'" You stare at him as he quoted his probably dead father while sticking a finger into the air.

"I think I remember Jack or somebody back home saying something like that. How'd that work out anyway?"

His arms gesture to his entire body. "Oh gee I don't know, I'm here aren't I? And so are my friends, so I'd say it worked out pretty well." Ruel made a toothy smile behind his beard, revealing so many gaps and missing teeth. "It never gets old." Amalia walks by you and the humble enutrof with a plate of her own food. The line got shorter, the food getting even closer. "But enough about that. I'm heading to the wood shop today to see if I can find anything about your brother, do you wanna tag along?"

It sounded tempting, but you doubt you had the energy to talk to people today. "Honestly I-"

"She's going with me today!" The pretty sadidanette butted in. Ruel gave her a weird look. She coughs and collects herself. "I mean, she can't because Y/n promised she'd go with me to do some... shopping! Yeah, shopping."

Ruel stared at her as she made a smile on her face, then he says, "I thought you didn't like her, since when did you two start hanging out together?"

You and her share a glance. You knew that was a full on lie, what Amalia meant was that you and her were going to get better disguises and hopefully upgrade that bike looking machine. "Yesterday." You pipe up. "And she invited me to go shopping with her for food. So that's what we're gonna do."

"Yep, just some good old fashion shopping. Hehe...heh." Then she shoved a forkful of breakfast into her mouth.

Luckily Ruel is nearly as dense as Dally. "Oh, well don't let me stop you. I may not be as young as I once was, but I still know to not intrude on your guys 'precious girl time.'"

You relax your muscles. He bought it. Amalia nudges your side a little, "Let me know when your ready, I wanna get going as soon as possible."

You give her a thumbs up, and she nodded before walking out to the living room. When she leaves, you sigh, knowing that this was going to be a long, long day. Last night was crazy, and took up most of your snooze time. Now you have go to a bunch of stores with Amalia and figure out how to drive at the same time. Where are you gonna learn that? Wait a sec, Ruel drives. "Hey Ruel?"

He turned back around to face you. "Yes?"

"Uh, what's it like to drive?"

The enutrof rubs his beard as he thinks. "Well, its sort of freeing in a way. And thanks to my wonderful engineering, I managed to make the greatest invention of all time!" He pauses for a moment for you to guess.

"Your driller?"

"My driller! I built that thing with every single part I got my hands on, and turned it into art!" A firey passion burned in his eyes. "Its the most spectacular thing I have ever made! Nobody in the Stroud family could do something like that! Not even my Nana! Hahaha!"
