"There's gotta be another way," Amelie frowned, "We just need to think."

"Think?" Malia exasperated.

"Yeah..." Scott trailed off. "Think about how to get through a supernatural rift that melts steel."

"I didn't say it would be easy..." Amelie rolled her eyes.

"But it doesn't have to be so hard."

The four teenagers whipped around at the new voice. Mr Douglas stood with a smirk on his face, which angered Amelie. She hadn't seen what he'd done the day before, but they all knew now that he had been the one behind all the recent murders and increased theft of pineal glands. Her eyes remained on the whip in his hand. Did he take that from the Ghost Rider?

"He followed our scent," Scott stated.

"I followed your desperation," Douglas corrected before looking at each teenager with an annoying smirk, "We're all in a tough spot. Desperate to get inside and save everyone, and hoping to find a way to stop this army of the dead. We all want the same thing."

"He has a point," Lydia mumbled.

"If he doesn't kill anyone," Malia growled under her breath.

"Else," Scott added, "If he doesn't kill anyone else."

"All that matters right now is getting through the rift," Douglas ignored their claims.

"Then you're out of luck," Amelie crossed her arms over her chest, "The rift burns everything that tries to pass through it."

Douglas titled his head smugly, "Perhaps not everything."

Suddenly, Parrish came out of the shadows. Amelie's eyes widened at the blue-green flames encasing his body and his large fangs as he growled menacingly at him.

"Dude, I thought you were on our side," Amelie squinted, but Parrish only growled louder at her.

"Jordan..." Lydia said warningly.

"If the Hellhound can open the rift, we all go together," Douglas gestured to Parrish.

"You're the bad guy," Malia claimed, "I'm pretty sure helping you is a bad idea."

"Good guy, bad guy..." Douglas sighed dramatically, "When has anything ever been so black and white?"

"World War II," A new voice surprised them. They turned to find Liam gasping for breath. Did he run all the way here? "He's a Nazi. He wants the Hunt for himself. He wants his own supernatural army."

The four teenagers exchanged fearful looks before Scott growled, "We're not letting you through that rift."

"Not letting me?" Douglas chuckled dryly, "I see... You still think you have a say in the matter."

Flicking his whip at them, they all jumped backwards and Scott roared at Douglas, louder than before. But, Douglas remained unaffected, "Höllenhund."

Walking over to the rift, Parrish held the rift with his bare hands, widening it. Amelie watched in horror and all she could do was yell, "Parrish, stop!" But he didn't.

"Wunderbar," Douglas hummed in satisfaction as Parrish roared at them one last time and followed Douglas, "Höllenhund... kommen."

As soon as both of them had crossed the rift, Malia yelled out, "Now!" Hoping that it would be the perfect moment for them to cross as well.

The five teenagers ran across, hoping to reach the rift just in time before it closed but none of them had reached it in time. Amelie cursed quietly under her breath, touching the rift slowly with her hand and watched the green swirl around her palm until it disappeared completely.
