"Sweetheart, I didn't mean for you to feel like this..." He felt guilty for telling her about his nephew after she was excited about what she did in her day. He gloomed her excitement by throwing the information about Eddie's feelings but because he couldn't help himself. Y/N shook her head and immediately rushed out of the door, going towards her car. She got in as quickly as she could, not even waiting for it to heat up after she started it, and started her way towards Eddie's trailer.
She angrily banged onto the steering wheel, feeling a ball of knots form in her stomach, just getting bigger and bigger at each passing second. She wanted to cry, yell, for feeling so stupid, so idiotic, so moronic. She let herself be happy today, not thinking of the consequences this day might provoke on someone else, particularly Eddie.
She finally arrived at his house, and she could already hear the Metal blasting through the windows as she stepped out of her car. She walked towards the front door, nervousness swallowing her whole, but she needed to make this right. She banged onto the door until she heard the music pause, and steps could be heard. The door opened, her breath getting caught in her throat. Eddie was shirtless, only black sweatpants on, joint in between fingers, his mane up in a messy bun. Her legs shook slightly at the sight, but she had to compose herself. His eyes widened at seeing her in his doorstep.
"What? What are you doing here Y/N?" She didn't know what to say, so she had to make an excuse, stuttering in the process.
"W-Wayne and Laura were being gross." She internally winced at the poor lie she just said. He was still stunned to see her in his doorstep at all.
"Weren't you on a date?" He asked and now he himself winced at his sudden question, because he had no place to ask that to her, but the nervousness and the high of his joint was messing up with his head, plus four already drank beers. She frowned at his question, feeling the knot in her throat start forming.
"What? No?" She said as if it were obvious but she could see in his eyes that he was still doubtful. She couldn't lose the trust they built the past months, she won't have it. "Can I come inside?" He seemed taken aback by her request and he nodded once, letting her through.
As soon as she went inside, the smell of weed invaded her nostrils and she wondered how many joints had he already smoked in the day. She walked towards the fridge, opening it to look for the one thing that would calm her nerves. She grabbed a bottle of beer, and opened it with the edge of the counter and a slam at the top of it. Eddie was watching her as he did the exact same, opening a bottle in the same way as she did, his eyes not leaving her face.
She didn't have rosy cheeks, nor rosy lips. No marks in her neck, nothing on her face that would tell him what she did today with Hargrove. He felt a twist of guts inside of him at the thought of the other guy and he took a long sip of his beer. She took one as well, and then she stared at him, seeing his movements and his body language.
"Why did you ask that?" She asked him and he licked the inside of his bottom lip as he tried to look for an excuse, any at all. He shrugged at her, taking a hit from his joint. She kept looking at him as he handed the joint to her, and she took it, inhaling a drag out of it, trying to calm her anxiety.
"Because that's what it sounded like. Going to a place together, alone, having lunch and shit together. It's a date darling." She noticed the venom he spat when he spoke to her. She squinted her eyes, a certain anger filling her core.
"I am allowed to have friends who share my same interests." He rolled his eyes to her and started walking towards his room.
"I think Hargrove has some other kind of interest." He spat out, not being able to contain his words, cursing himself as he took a sip from his beer again. She followed him towards his room, taking a drag of the joint as she headed in. She needed to calm down, because she could say the wrong words right now, and she doesn't want to destroy their relationship with them.
