SCP-049: Infestation Part 1

Oh my.

You blinked into reality, and saw your two scary escorts running down the hallway, guns at the ready.

"Oh yes just desert me and leave me alone where I surely would die." I grumpily mumbled to myself.

"Oh well, let's go explore certain doom!" I voiced in a much more cheerful tone as you piveted around and marched down the hallway.

As you were walking along, the lights flickered and died, fading away as if breathing their last.

The noise of chaos quietened down into and eerie and tense silence which you sort of enjoyed.

You never heard the sweet sound of silence like this before.

You paused, wanting to make the most of it, but you quickly got bored and continued walking in a much slower and softer manner.

Every turn made you anxious, and you almost wished to be back home.

You don't even know what you are doing here!

You continued strolling, anxiety levels rising and falling at every step and sound that either you or someone-or something- made.

It's the next turn, where you have an encounter.....

(Y/N)'s POV

I held my breath at the next turn.

Something smelt off.

I paused just before the corner.

C'mon fool don't be such a coward.

I took a deep breath, and off I went.

You almost gagged at what you saw.

No amount of horror movies or murderous games could prepare you for what you saw.

For right in front of you, humanoid figure was knealing down over a dismembered body, covered in gore with guts hanging out and body parts in unnatural positions.

This figure poked and continued his 'work'if you would call it that, until eventually, the massacred corpse rose, empty dead eyes aimlessly staring ahead, blood still dripping from various places.

You almost screamed, but before you even opened your mouth, you collapsed.

A/N wow this is longer than I expected-juat got carried away haha. I hope its alright though, and if any parts of this story are similar to others, my apologies, it was unintentional, although some may be inspired by other writers. (I can never remember names so if there is work that belongs to another writer, which I hope there isn't, all credit will go to them)
I will now continue the story, so if you did read this, I hope you approve...

I opened my heavy eyelids, and stared at the ceiling, wanting to go back to sleep.

Sleep...
What's that?

Menatally sighing, I turned my head to 'admire' my new room.

This time though, I wasn't alone.

That same black... thing was standing in front of a large metal file cabinet.

He's so tall..

You never saw this person before.
And yet you felt that it was, in fact, a male.

You continued eyeing it, half expecting him to turn around and do something to you.

You wanted to say something. Anything.

But no words came out.

Just...silence.

That is until, you had enough.

Without uttering a single word, you stumbled out of the bed and attempted an escape.

As you were reaching for the door, a strange voice said: "I wouldn't do that if I were you Miss."

It was strange.
So soft yet so firm.
So human yet so not human.

You frowned and lowered your arm.

(Y/N)'s POV

"Would you mind telling me why?" I questioned, a curiousity creeping over.

"Would you like to die Miss?"

Yes.

"N-no?" I stuttered. Why did I stutter?

"Well then, I would highly recommend listening to me Miss."

I nodded slowly, facing him.

It was the first time I got to see his face.

He resembled that of a Plague Doctor, but instead of the leathery beaks, he had what I believe is an Italian show mask.

Piercing silvery eyes bore into my own.

This was my specialty.

I can go ages without blinking, and so we ended up in a staring contest.

It became very awkward very quickly, but neither of us looked away.

The might contest lasted for a few minutes before you had to blink.

The Doctor, impressed by your stubbornness, spoke in a soft tone.

"You are quite stubborn Miss... May I ask your name?"

"Oh it's (y/n)! What should I call you?" You asked, starting to relax a little as you got the impression of trust.

"Just Doctor if you may. Miss (y/n),if you would like I could perhaps lead you out of here."

His voice was like music to your ears (A/N- I keep typing eyes instead of ears TvT), very calming.

You thought about how he could use the element of decievement against you, and you built up barriers.

(Y/N)'s POV

Some harsh noises outside flushed me out of my thoughts.

"Miss (y/n)?"

I blinked trying to gather myself.

"Miss (y/n) we have to leave."

"R-right.."

I quickly followed him out, matching his speedy pace easily.

As we walked, the noises we heard before grew louder.

Scraping stone, screaming and falling bodies.
I gulped anxiously while the mighty doctor walked on, apparently unfazed.

"You know, you are the first I have seen in a while to not be infected by the Great Pestilence."

I remained silent, but pondered on what he means.

He continued talking about this plague that curses humanity and I listened, partly intrigued.

That is, until, we ran into some trouble..
