Scully and Mulder were no longer in suits, now wearing jackets and pants.
Mulder signaled to Scully, and they split up.
Star pulled on Mulder's pants and showed him the compass that was spinning wildly.

Scully was in a clearing; she bent down and picked up some strange dirt o the ground.
A large rumbling began.
"Mulder?" Scully called out.
The rumbling grew louder.
Scully stood and took out her gun.
As Scully walked back, she saw the light shining through the trees.
"Mulder, is that you?" Scully tried again. "Mulder?"
A silhouette from out of the light came toward Scully. The man lifted up his shotgun, and Scully pointed her weapon at the man.
"Special Agent Dana Scully," She told the figure "FBI, drop your weapon,"
Detective Miles stepped into the light. "I'm with the County Sheriff's Department," he explained. "You're trespassing on private property here,"
"We are conducting an investigation,"
Mulder walked up and pointed his gun as well, he glanced back towards where Star was hiding behind a tree.
"Get in your car and leave, all of you," Detective Miles ordered, "or I'll have to arrest you. I don't care who you are,"
"Hold on!" Mulder argued. "This is a crime scene,"
"Did you hear what I said? You are on private property without legal permission. Now, I'm only going to say it one more time, get in your car and leave,"
Mulder and Scully lowered their flashlights and weapons.
Mulder collected Star, and the trio walked out past the yellow tape and passed a truck with huge searchlights on them that created the light.
The trio got into their car and drove off.
"What's he doing out here all by himself?" Mulder wondered.
"Maybe it has something to do with this," Scully held out a handful of dirt.
Mulder turned on the car light to get a better view.
"What do you think it is?"
"I don't know. Is it a campfire?" Mulder suggested.
"It was all over the ground. I think something is going on out here, some sacrifice, maybe. What if these kids are involved in some occult, and that man knows something about it?"
Star glanced down at the compass and noticed it was acting very strangely.
"I wanna come back here," Scully said.
Star hurried to hide on the car floor.
"Star?" Mulder asked worriedly.
There was a loud roar, and a light engulfed them. Time seemed to stop just for a second. When the light faded, the car slowly stopped, having no power.
Mulder quickly looked in the car's back seat and saw it empty "Star?!"
Star's head popped up from where she had hidden, allowing Mulder to sigh in relief.
Mulder kissed the top of her head before turning to try to restart the car, but it would not go.
"What happened?" Scully asked.
"We lost power," Mulder replied "brakes, steering, everything." he looked at his watch. "We lost nine minutes," Mulder got out of the car and screamed into the sky.
Scully got out and screamed over the rain so Mulder could hear her. " We lost what?"
"Nine minutes. I looked at my watch just before the flash; it was nine-o-three. It just turned nine-thirteen." Mulder started running down the road. "Look! Look!"
They stopped at the pink 'X ' Mulder marked in the road, only a few feet from the car. "Oh-ho, yes! Abductees...people who have made UFO sightings, they've reported unexplained time loss,"
"Come on," Scully groaned.
"Gone! Just like that,"
"No, wait a minute. You're saying that that time disappeared. Time can't just disappear, it's, it's, it's a universal invariant!"
The car started up, and the headlights shined on them.
Mulder smiled. "Not in this zip code," he returned to the car.
Scully looked down at the 'X 'and followed.
