If I wasn't enough for them, how could I ever be enough for him?

I turned to go but I wanted to explain to Jimin before I left.

I'd dragged him into this situation with San, maybe even messed up things at his job
and he deserved an explanation, even an apology. I sighed.

"Listen, San and I only dated
for a little while."

"Hardly enough time for
me to figure out what kind
of guy he was."

"If I'd figured it out sooner, I'd never have stayed with him for that long. A couple weeks in he started asking me for money."

At that  Jimin's grew even darker but I held up my hand to stop him when he opened his mouth, probably to criticize me and tell me what an idiot I'd been.

"I do have enough self-respect not to put up with that, I have learned from past mistakes."

He made a noise of disbelief
but I didn't let him stop me
this time.

"I hate moochers so I dumped him right away but he was persistent. Kept calling me."

"Kept texting, Even when I
told him in no uncertain terms that I wasn't getting back together with him."

"Even when I ignored his calls and texts for over two weeks."

"Even when I blocked his number, He still tried."

"I don't know why, it wasn't
like we had anything special."

At that I thought of what Jimin and I could have had if I'd been enough.

I ducked my head and studied the clean white tile of his
kitchen floor.

Something with him would have been both electric and special.

I was tired of Jimin only seeing the worst in me so I decided to just get the rest of the story
out as quickly as possible.

"So anyways, today he
showed up at the bar."

"Wanted me to go outside
with him to talk, I said no."

"I wasn't willing to text him
back, what made him think I'd talk to him in person instead?"

Jimin nodded but stayed
silent, patiently listening.

"He didn't want to talk."

"Got upset, Insisted I join him outside. I said no again."

"He didn't care."

"Pulled me outside."

"I ended up going so we
wouldn't make a scene."

"I didn't want to get banned from the bar, He wanted me to get
in his car to go somewhere."

"I wasn't doing that."

"And you saw the rest."

Warmth hovered over my hand before I realized Jimin's was covering mine.

It almost seemed like... I looked down. Jimin worked my tight fingers away from my arm to thread his together with mine.

When I glance up to figure out what was going on, Jimin's face was suddenly much, much
closer than it had been before.

We were nose to nose.

His eyes were starting to blur and cross in front of me as I
tried to focus on the serious
look on his face.

"Listen closely and don't forget this Jungkookie, this is important." Jimin started.
