As soon as the little dog came to her, she picked her up, grabbed her favorite toy, and put on her leash before she headed back down to Abby's apartment. As she was walking, she pulled out her phone and pulled up her messages with her mom.

She smiled a little and went back in the elevator, holding the small dog as she whimpered against her.
"What's wrong baby? It's just the elevator, I got you," she told her, kissing the puppy's fur before the doors opened.
She looked at her phone and about dropped it as Jay called her.
"Hey dad," she smiled, pulling the phone to her ear.
"Hey, Mads. How'd the appointment go? I'm sorry I haven't been able to call you," Jay asked, sad that he'd missed a full 2 weeks of Maddy's life updates.
"It was great! I got cleared for soccer and found out today that I made the JV team! Not varsity like I wanted but I'll get to play so! Yeah!" She told her father, unable to control the smile that crossed her face.
"Way to go kid! I'm so proud of you," Jay smiled.
"Our first game is in 2 weeks," she said as she leaned against the wall across from Abby's apartment.
"Yeah? Hopefully, I'll be able to get on FaceTime with mom and watch at least one game," he said as he reached across his desk to grab a pen and mark it on the calendar.
"Really?"
"Of course, I have to see at least one," he chuckled, "I'm proud of you baby bug,"
"Thanks, dad," she smiled, "I really miss you,"
"I miss you to sweetie. I'll be home soon. 3 months to go," he sighed, leaning back in the chair he was in, "I gotta go but I'll talk to you later and I love you so much,"
"I love you too dad," she smiled before both of them hung up and she walked back into Abby's apartment and back to her best friend's room.
"Oh, my god. Is that her?" Abby asked as she laid on her bed on her stomach with a magazine.
"Why else would I be holding her?" She chuckled, sitting on the bed and letting molly out of her arms.
"She's so cute Mads," the other girl said as she sat up and started to pet the little dog that made herself at home.
"She's so tiny. She's scared to jump off the bed so we don't have to worry about her going anywhere," Maddy smiled, petting the small dog before getting her favorite toy out of her back pocket. "Here baby look. It's your favorite!"
