Joey caressed her cheek as he leaned in and kissed her, "I feel the same way, babe. I love you so much." Kathy smiled at the two lovebirds, and she hugged them both.
"So happy for both of you. Alright, let's go to the living room with everyone else."
"We still have to go get the presents and the food that Steph has been baking for two days. Our house smells like a candy shop; she has made so many cookies, cupcakes, and pies. She even made me my favorite blueberry lemon pie. I love you, Mom, but hers was as good as yours."
"Really? That's a first for him, Steph, to admit someone else's cooking is as good as mine. That's great, son."
"I know, Ma, and we will be right back in after a few trips. We have a ton of gifts, trunk, backseat, and back window completely full."
"Okay, well, go and get the presents. I will send your brother out to help."
"Thanks, Ma." Stephanie smiled at her husband and the affection he had for his mom. He adored her."
They went outside, and just as they reached the car, he pushed Stephanie up against the car. "I really can't wait to marry you in front of everyone. I am completely in love with you, and I can't wait to get you home and show you just how much I love you." His mouth crashed into hers, and they were getting all hot and heavy when his brother cleared his throat.
"Ma said you needed help carrying in the presents, she didn't tell me I would catch you two making out. You know your room is still the same as you left it; go give your bed some action because we all know it's never had any."
"Shut up, Tom." Joey started chasing him around the yard, then caught him and had him in a headlock when he picked Joey up and was carrying him around the yard. They were both laughing, and Steph stood there smiling; she loved how they all got along. Her kids were definitely very lucky to have two huge amazing families to grow up in."
"Alright, come on guys, let's unload all these gifts, Tom there is a freaking ton." She grabbed a few and her two pies, cupcakes, and cookie trays, then walked inside when Joey jogged up to the door and opened it for her.
They each grabbed arm fulls of presents. Steph had taken the food to the kitchen and the gifts to the living room. Michelle and Stefan were sitting on the floor with Kayla, Clara, Liam, and Ella.
Steph sat the gifts down in front of the tree just as Joey and Tom came in and sat a bunch down. They went back out to get more. I decided I was going to arrange the gifts and started making stacks of gifts for the adults, male and female, and for the kids, female and male.
"My goodness, Joseph, why so many gifts this year?"
"Because it's the first year we have spent Christmas together in a few years, plus it's not just me; now there's Steph and the kids. So, we bought two gifts for everyone, one from us and one from the kids. Plus, I was having so much fun shopping for everyone. Steph kept telling me to stop buying, but I just couldn't. This is only for you all. I also bought for Jordan's family, Stephanies, parents, Steph, and the kids. Our house has so many gifts it's not funny."
"I tried to tell him not to, but he refused to listen. Luckily, I am on his account, and I made a deposit into his account yesterday."
"No, you didn't, Steph. I told you I wanted to do this."
"I did, and I told you I wanted to help. Joey, we are in this marriage together. I have money, which means we do stuff together. It wasn't even half of what I know you spent."
"How much did you deposit?"
"Two thousand."
"Joseph, how much did you spend on gifts for everyone? If she deposited two grand, and that's not even half, that means you spent more."
