"The killer told me he knew my secret," Sam replied, holding Chad's gaze. "He attacked Tara to lure me back here."

Chad ran a hand over his face, exhaling. "But then why immediately go and murder some douche nozzle who was stalking Liv?" He glanced over at me. "Hey, you okay, Logan?"

I sat up a little straighter, my throat suddenly dry. "Vince wasn't some rando," I said quietly. My voice felt distant, almost detached. "He was my cousin. His mom is Leslie Macher. Stu Macher's sister."

"Wait, who's Stu Macher?" Liv asked, her face scrunched in confusion.

I whipped my head around, barely able to believe she had to ask. "Liv, are you fucking stupid? He's my uncle, and Billy Loomis' accomplice."

Sam's eyes widened slightly as the realization hit her. She sat forward, her voice more certain now. "Okay, so the first three attacks are all on people related to the original killers."

My stomach twisted. Stu Macher was my uncle. My blood. Could I be next? My breathing slowed as the thought settled. It made sense. The killer was targeting anyone linked to the original murders. Eventually, they'll come for me. Or my dad. My hands balled into fists. God, what kind of fucked up world was I living in? Who the hell would be insane enough to recreate a Stab movie? You'd have to be truly psychotic to pull some shit like that.

"Logan, you okay?" Mindy's voice pulled me out of my thoughts. She was sitting on the coffee table, leaning slightly toward me. Her dark eyes searched mine with a rare flash of concern.

I gave a stiff nod, but my chest still felt tight.

I glanced around the room and realized Sam was gone. "Where's Sam?"

Wes, who was sitting on the couch with his arms crossed, let out an annoyed sigh. "Mindy accused her of being the psycho in the mask," he muttered, clearly irritated by the accusation.

I sat up straighter, suddenly tense. My voice came out sharp. "Okay. Well, do you think I'm the killer, Mindy?" My eyes locked onto hers, daring her to say it. "I mean, Sam's not the only one related to one of the original killers."

For a moment, she didn't say anything. Her expression was unreadable. Then, slowly, she turned toward me, leaning forward slightly.

"Yeah," she said flatly. "I do."

I scoffed, letting out a bitter laugh. "Un-fucking-believable." My eyes scanned the room, searching the faces of the others, but no one said anything.

"Logan, it does make perfect movie sense," Chad added, annoyingly agreeing with his sister.

I clenched my jaw. Of course Chad would back her up. "Screw you guys," I spat. I shoved Mindy as I stood and stormed out of the house, barely hearing Wes call out after me.

"Logan! Logan, wait up!" Wes jogged down the front steps, catching up to me.

I spun around, arms crossed. "What?"

He slowed to a stop, catching his breath. "They're just scared," he said, his voice gentler. "Pointing fingers makes them feel like they have some control over this. Don't let it get to you."

His kindness took me by surprise, and I felt my expression soften a little. I exhaled through my nose and let out the slightest smile.

Wes's lips quirked into a half smile. "I'll walk you home. You shouldn't go off alone."

I shook my head quickly. "Actually, can I stay at your place?" My voice came out smaller than I intended. "My dad's at work right now, and I don't wanna be alone."
