"Oh." He nods awkwardly.
"And breaking up isn't just leaving someone cold Turkey, you need to tell them why." You say.
"Which is the problem. I don't know what to say." You sigh.
"Just say what you didn't like about him then, he sucks at kissing and he's nervous." Hunter says.
"That's rude Hunter." You say.
"Look I'm trying to give you ideas I don't know how this works." He says.
"I cant do this." You sigh.
"I'll do it then." Hunter says.
"Hell to the no you are not." You laugh.
"Just tell him the truth. I cant because of my family." Hunter says.
"Before Grom?" You ask.
"It's better he hears it before he sees it." He says.
You frown.
"I'll come with you." Hunter says.
"No!" You yell.
"Titan, you really don't know how this works." You say.
"Damn it, fine I'm gonna meet up with him right now." You say, walking out.
"Do you need any hel-"
"No." You slam the door.
Hunter sits there.
"Maybe I should accompany her. To Grom." Hunter says to himself.
"I don't know how that grom thing is gonna react to her, and if dealing with it will help." Hunter says.
He rubs his thumbs together.
"Cant let her die." Hunter says softly standing up and going to his room.
*knock knock*
This is gonna be awful. Waiting outside of the Park residence. You hope none of his dads answer and Cedar just shows up.

The doors open.
"Oh hey Y/N. Why are you here?" Cedar asks.
"Can we talk?" You ask.
"Yeah come in." He says, opening up the door more for you.
"No no, just out here is fine." You say.
"Um.. okay. Are you okay?" He asks.
"Look. Cedar, tonight, when I'm fighting that thing. You're gonna see things you won't like." You say.
"Of course I know that, seeing you fighting whatever it is in general your afraid of is something no one wants to see." He says.
"No, it's more than that. What I'm scared of." You say.
"I'm a daughter of a coven head." You say.
"I know." He says.
"Terra, the coven head of plants, it actually took her years for Belos to get her to be a coven head." You say.
"The day she did, was the day I was born." You say.
"She didn't wanna be coven head, she wanted to be something more. And my more, she wanted to be a member of the throne itself." You say.
"And in order to do that. She said she would become a coven head under one condition." You say.
"And... what is that?" Cedar asks
You gulp and tighten your grip on your hands.
"That I have to marry the golden guard." You say.
"What?" He says.
"Yeah." You say.
"So when I'm fighting that thing, you're gonna see a terrible marriage that I am afraid of, because I will be trapped with no freedom, and if i express any freedom I will get hurt." You say.
"I'm scared of that because I'm trapped." You say.
"And he found out about us." You say.
Cedar stands there, not knowing what to say.
"So... you're saying... we need to split?" He asks.
You look down, not saying anything.
"It's safer to. For both of us." You say.

"Why didn't you tell me before I asked you last night?" He says.
"I was scared." You say.

"Okay." Cedar nods.
"It's fine." Cedar nods looking up at you.
"I wish you best of luck tonight, with Grom." He smiles.

"Yeah." You nod.
"Thanks." You whisper, loud enough for him to hear.
"And... im sorry." You nod.
"It's okay." He smiles.
He shuts the door. Wow. You hated how understanding he was. You hated how he didn't even try to fight for you back.
"Jerk." You mumble and walk away.
Grom night comes. Everyone's hanging outside of the school. You're in your dress, with Viney and all your friends. Cedar never showed up. Titan you're such an ass for telling him that. You didn't want to but Hunters right.
"So why did you and Cedar..." Viney says.
"Because I told him the truth." You say.
"He didn't even wanna fight for the relationship, he wasn't eager." You say.
"I'm sorry Y/n." She says.
"Where is Skara she's late." Jerbo says.
"She never answered my text message either." Viney says.
"Oh wait isn't that her over there?" Jerbo says pointing in the direction he's talking about.
"Oh it is!" You say.
"Wait." Viney says grabbing your arm.
"And she's with..." Viney says.
