"You promised me that you wouldn't leave."
"Tom...I never left."
~.+*+.~
Fate is Cruel. Truly.
What if the dark Tom Riddle was never evil from the start? What if something important to him vanished and made him become a monster?
What if he had a lov...
"What do you need of me?" he asked calmly, his charming voice surprising (Y/N) a bit. (Y/N) fished the diary out of her rather big pocket, and held it out to him. "Is this yours?" she asked. Tom stared at her for a couple of seconds, before grabbing the diary with his lythe fingers. He held it in his slim hands and looked back up at (Y/N).
"It is. Thank you." (Y/N) was disappointed by his reaction. His tone was blunt, and he sounded reluctant to say anything but a thank you. (Y/N) crossed her arms.
"You're Tom Riddle, right? I'm (Y/N) (L/N). We're in the same year and House." Tom seemed frustrated that she hadn't left, but patiently listened to her sudden introduction. "..I see. Could you please leave now? I wish to be alone."
(Y/N) huffed quietly before exiting the compartment. She had wanted to learn more about the mysterious boy, but they had barely even spoken properly to each other. Then, two female students cane stampeding down the train corridor, storming towards her. It was no other than Lily Evans and Molly Prewett.
They were already in their robes, and they greeted (Y/N) with huge smiles on their faces. "(Y/N)! We missed you SOO much! We also heard that you managed to become an Animagi in the holidays! What animal did you become??" Lily stormed her with questions.
"Urm..I became a wolf." (Y/N) responded, smiling back awkwardly. James, Sirius, and Remus had helped her become an Animagi since she had always been so jealous of them. She became a wolf which wasn't surprising, considering that her patronus was a wolf.
Molly grinned. "That's great! Now, get changed quickly! Chop chop!"
(Y/N) chuckled before entering an empty compartment. She got changed into her green, Slytherin robes, and smiled widely as she felt the train stop. They were here. At Hogwarts. (Y/N), Lily, and Molly hopped off the train with many others, before entering the castle once again under a Professor's command.
(Y/N) noticed Tom walk by himself, his concentration only on his diary. Probably to check if she had touched anything. Lily noticed this and smirked.
"Oh~? Has (Y/N) fallen for Riddle's charm?" she teased her with an 'expression' on her face. Molly joined in. "Staring? At who, (Y/N)~?" (Y/N) rolled her eyes. "You're one to talk Lily. You and Potter are something. And Molly! You and Weasley are something too." Both of the girl's faces turned as red as their hair. Molly pinched (Y/N)'s arm and glared at her. (Y/N) knew this was quite serious coming from Molly, but she couldn't control her laughter. "You guys are hilarious. Come on, let's just follow the professor."
"Quietly." (Y/N) added as Lily opened her mouth to protest about what she had said to her earlier. Lily pouted and rolled her eyes, making Molly snort in amusement.
The fifth years entered the Great Hall where the Sorting Hat was placed in the middle.

She separated with her friends and sat at the Slytherin table, and saw her Gryffindor friends chatter happily on the other side of the Hall.
(Y/N) bit her lip, feeling a bit left out. She didn't have many friends in the Slytherin House, and it was something everyone else had noticed. She often got teased by others for having Gryffindor friends, but she honestly didn't give a d*mn about what they said. Because she had great friends. Better than they could ever have.
(Y/N) yawned as she erased all the negative thoughts inside her head. It was boring seeing all the first years getting sorted into their Houses for the hundreth time, but she enjoyed the feast, as she hadn't eaten a single thing before coming to Hogwarts.
While eating, (Y/N) saw Lily and Molly talking to James's gang, and she could tell that James was flirting. (Y/N) smirked triumphantly.
'I knew James liked her. I was right, Lily.' she thought smugly, before returning to her feast.
After the feast was over, the fifth years went back to their House common rooms, and (Y/N) did the same, entering the Slytherin Common room.

She went upstairs to her dorm and found that her luggage had already been placed there. She let Lumi out of her cage and opened the window for her to fly through, closing it shortly after. She sighed as she saw the heap of books that she had to read and study for her O.W.Ls.
(Y/N) lacked confidence in Potions, and really needed some advice in order to higher up her grade. (Y/N) peered outside the window and watched as raindrops dropped onto her window continuously like a never ending melody.
(Y/N) then changed into some more comfortable clothes and got into bed, setting her alarm clock early to go and study in the library in the morning. Tomorrow was going to be exhausting.
