"Hi, darling." Wilbur smiled, leaning over to pause the music.

Aurora stared silently, her lips parted ever-so-slightly, while she craned her neck back to look Wilbur in the eyes.

"Look at your hair, my god." Wilbur smiled, reaching out to tuck her now shoulder length hair behind her ear. A rogue piece of curled bangs instantly fell back in her face.

"Wil!" She finally exclaimed, crashing herself against his chest, and wrapping both arms as tightly around his torso as she could.

"There's my girl." He laughed, leaning down to wrap his arms around her shoulders. His fingers were still toying with the tips of her hair. If it were any other day, Aurora would've guessed he was discretely trying to pick at pieces of dried paint.

"What are you doing here?" She asked, leaning away to wipe her eyes. Laughter fell graciously from his lips when she struggled in his grasp, trying to step back.

"I haven't seen you in three weeks, where do you think you're going?" Wilbur teased, holding her firmly to his chest. Aurora groaned in mock discomfort, giving in and letting Wilbur squeeze her to his heart's content.

"Did you know about this?" Aurora asked with an accusatory tone, pointing in the general area behind Wilbur's back. She tried her best to peek around the side of Wilbur's shoulder when she heard where Niki's laugh was coming from.

"You think he could pull this off without me?" She raised an eyebrow, walking forward to rest a hand on Wilbur's shoulder. He relented, letting go of Aurora to give Niki a quick hug, kissing the top of her head.

"I would've managed something." Wilbur rolled his eyes, but his smile was telling enough. Anything surprise related- her birthday, not-so-secret road trips, the present they bought for Rob when he opened a second location for his bar- Wilbur always fumbled it.

"Okay, no one has answered my question- what are you doing here?" She asked again, lightly slapping Wilbur's chest, more as a reason to touch him than anything else. It still felt like she was dreaming, that there was no way he was physically standing in front of her.

"Not even an hour back in the country and you're hitting me? Niki, she's hurt me- I'm hurt." Wilbur said dramatically, getting zero sympathy from Niki in the process. After a pointed look from both girls, Wilbur sighed with a growing smile.

"You didn't have a key." Wilbur shrugged, stepping back to his usual place at Aurora's right side.

"Did you leave your brain in America or something? You're making no sense." She laughed, looking at Niki for a proper explanation. The rosy color on Niki's cheeks complimented the pink of her voice nicely.

"That's what you're going with? Really?" She asked with a raised eyebrow to Wilbur.

"It's true! She doesn't!" He huffed, tightening his grip on her waist unintentionally. Normally Aurora would also play victim- feigning wounds to obtain Niki's sympathy (which worked in her favor much more often than Wil's), but instead she just continued to stare up, up, up at Wilbur.

"I couldn't let you be locked out of our place- not when it'd be my fault at least. I already made three spares, since I know you'll probably lose this one before you touch American soil." Wilbur teased, pulling a small silver key out of his pocket and placing it in her hand.

"You flew all the way out here to give me a key? I thought you had a show in Las Vegas tonight? Don't tell me you-"

"Ash dislocated two fingers after Sunday's gig while we were packing up. Tour is on hold for the next couple weeks until he gets the cast off. And, if I'm being honest, I think I wouldn't mind canceling a few shows if it meant I could see you- even if it was just one day early." Wilbur smiled sweetly at her, like he had never meant any words more truly in his life.
