Planetary Assault

Peridot continued to direct the gem forces with precision and skill. Her knowledge of gem technology and strategy proved invaluable, as the gem soldiers on the ground and the ships in orbit worked together to repel the Chaos Legion's assault. And despite the odds against them, the gems fought with courage and determination, refusing to give up even as the battle grew more intense.

But a sudden pinging in one of the technician's holographic panels caused her to turn her head in its direction, the technician's eyes widened as she watched a group of legion ships veer off course and fly away from the battle. She quickly tapped on her console, zooming in on the ships to get a closer look. Suddenly, she noticed a strange energy field emanating from the ships, growing in intensity with each passing moment. She gasped and turned to Peridot.

"Peridot, you need to see this. There's a group of legion ships moving away from the battle, and they're emitting some kind of strange energy field," the technician exclaimed.

Peridot turned to the technician's console and furrowed her brow. "What kind of energy field?" she asked, tapping on the console to bring up more data.

"I don't know, but it's growing stronger by the second. We need to warn the fleet and the soldiers on the ground," the technician said urgently.

Peridot nodded, quickly relaying the information to the fleet and the soldiers on the ground. She watched as the gem ships and soldiers prepared for another onslaught, bracing themselves for whatever was to come.

Hours would pass and the Chaos Flagship would come to join the congregation of ships, being able to breach through the intense battle in the atmosphere, eating the brunt of the anti air cannons and barrages of missiles from the ships sent to intercept them, peridot was focusing on her own tasks when the same gem technician spoke up, "the energy levels are spiking!" and with that, the whole planet seemed to shake as a pulse of toxic green energy spiked out from the center of the flagship, like electricity crackling along the surface of the planet.

Peridot's eyes widened as she quickly assessed the situation, realizing that the legion fleet had deployed a destabilization bomb. "All ships, full retreat now!" she shouted through the comm channel to the gem fleet. "We have to get out of the planet's orbit before it's too late!"

The gem soldiers on the ground, including the heavy gunner and commandos, quickly made their way back to their drop pods as the gem vehicles raced to get on board the gem cruisers. The Chaos Legion troops, caught off guard by the sudden retreat, tried to pursue them but were quickly pushed back by the auto turrets and gem soldiers firing from the safety of the vehicles.

Meanwhile, the gem fleet desperately tried to escape the planet's gravity well as the destabilization bomb continued to wreak havoc. The flagship was hit the hardest and started to disintegrate, with chunks of the ship falling to the planet's surface. Some of the smaller gem ships were also caught in the blast and disintegrated, while others managed to make it out but were severely damaged.

Eventually, the gem fleet managed to escape the planet's orbit, but not without significant losses. Peridot watched in horror as the flagship exploded into a cloud of debris. She took a deep breath and turned to the gem technician who had first noticed the energy spike. "We need to analyze that energy signature and find out how to neutralize it," she said firmly. 

The chaos flagship wasn't done, the energy readings spiked up again before another pulse of green energy shot out of it before Peridot could react, the energy shook the planet violently as the ground seemed to crack and turn a deep green color. The clouds changed colors and the sky turned a terrible color as the waves of energy hit the gem soldiers that were still on the planet, causing them to fall to their knees as the energy crackled around them, Peridot herself groaned as she fell on one knee.
