"Fine." I don't comment on his earlier words. I resume my walk. "I transferred from West High. You?"

"Concord Hills High. I've never heard of West High."

"Concord Hills High sounds fiction. What are you? A wizard?"

He nods. "Yep. Being a wizard my whole life."

"What coven do you belong to? And why are you just coming here?"

He takes a deep breath and dip his hands into his pocket, straighten his back. He answers, "the Gemini coven and I didn't need a special school for witches before."

"And you do now?" I ask, facing him to watch his expression as he answers. "Where is your better half? Or aren't Gemini supposed to be two?"

He nods. "Yeah. I had a twin sister. She died last year."

"I'm sorry."

He shrugs and scrunches his nose. "Nah, it's okay. It wasn't painful, if anything it was peaceful. You know us Gemini can't and shouldn't be able to do magic without the other half, but after she died I did magic. It shocked everyone more than it did when we found her dead and realized I wouldn't be able to do magic again, but I did it. It shouldn't be possible, especially when the magic is strong, stronger than when my sister and I did it. I can't control it, so my parents figured it would be best to come here."

This is one of the saddest thing I've heard this month. First, he lost his sister, his other half. I don't know much about Gemini witches but I know they don't have full hearts, they carry half of each other and that's why they can't do magic without each other. Second, he realized he can actually do magic without her. It sad because it's making him feel guilty. He doesn't have to say it, I can see the guilt written all over him.

"What about you? What have you been doing before realizing you need some schooling in supernatural?" He turns the table with me, not even giving me the opportunity to console him. I'm a stranger he met like thirty minutes ago, of course he doesn't want to be consoled by me.

"I didn't even know I had powers until six months ago. My parents–adopted parents thought this place is a reformed school for troubled teenagers and brought me in. It was after I got here that I realized that magic is real," I tell him, it's only fair that I give him the supposed story of my life instead of the real thing. He shared something about himself and it's normal for me to do the same.

"You didn't know? You never suspected a thing?" He asks, I guess he can't believe I've been so dumb not to recognize that I have powers. Something that's becoming a thing for me now, not suspecting anything until it becomes worse.

I shrug. "What can I say? I was too busy getting in trouble with the police to notice anything else." This is actually the first time I'm acknowledging that life out loud. I can't say I miss those days when I was going in and out of the police station but I miss the thrill. The good old days.

"Now that explains so many things." He chuckles in humor, I don't think he means it in a bad way.

I come to a stop in front my building and look at him. "This is where I say fuck off." I tell him in a not so playfully tone but he laughs anyway. He gets it.

"We aren't really done with the tour," he mentions and I cock my eyebrows. "You didn't show me the barn."

"You know about the barn?" Not many new student know about the barn.

"I know everywhere. I got here two weeks ago. The gemini witches Ariana and Brianna gave me the tour."

What the hell?

"You mean to tell me that I just spent the last hour wasting my time when I could be doing something meaningful?"

He raises his hands in surrender. "I'm sorry. I saw you and I wanted to spend time with you."

I close my eyes and take slow and steady breath. I should punch him but I won't. "Fuck you." I give him the finger and walk away.

"The name is Sinclair." He says behind him.

That makes me stop and turn back.

"Your name is Sinclair, as in your first name, not last?" I've never met anyone first named Sinclair.

He snaps his fingers before pointing his index at me. "You got me, my first is Caleb, Caleb Sinclair, you can call me Sinclair or Sin."

No fucking way.

"I think I'll stick to Caleb. My name is Cami."

"Nice to meet you, Cami."

Whatever.

"You too." I turn around and begin to walk the stone steps.

"See you around, Cami." He calls behind me.

"Bye now." I wave without looking at him and hear him chuckle.

I raise my head up and meet Damian's eyes. He's standing at top, he isn't looking at me but he seems to be glaring hard at something behind me. I follow his gaze to where Caleb is still standing, oblivious to what Damian is doing. He waves when he see me, I give him a fake smile and wave back. I face forward and lose smile.

I expect Damian to say something when I reach the top of the steps. Instead he descends, leaving me to wonder what the fuck just happened?

What's his problem?

I sigh.
