"Yes, shipmaster. It appears to be a gravitational field of some sort," the technician replied as she adjusted the readings on the holopad.

Peridot turned and peered out the bridge windows, out at the empty space around them.

She then frowned, "That's odd. We're not near any planets or large celestial bodies. Keep monitoring it and let me know if anything changes," she ordered before turning back to the front of the ship.

As they continued to travel through space, the drag became more pronounced, causing the ships to slow down and putting a strain on their engines. Peridot knew that something wasn't right and ordered her crew to start scanning the area more closely.

"wait a second," one of the technician's voice rang out, confusion on her face. "I'm picking up organic life signatures.."

Peridot turned and glanced at her, "where?"

"All over our ship's exterior.." the technician trailed off.

Peridot's eyes widened in surprise. "Organic life signatures? That's impossible. We're in the middle of space. How can there be organic life out here?" She quickly ordered her crew to deploy drones to investigate the situation.

As the drones floated out of the ship and scanned the area around them, they flew over the top of the fleet and took in the sight of dark, almost unnoticeable figures hanging onto the sides of the ships in their fleet. One drone flew in closer to inspect but the feed was cut as an explosion rocked the ship, causing everyone in the bridge to stumble as Peridot's ears were filled with alarms blaring.

"Legion troops in the hangar bay!" a voice of a Jasper soldier rang out through the ship's interior comms, "they're everywhere!" her voice shouted as gunfire echoed through the comms.

"-" but before she was even able to give an order, the cacophony of voices through the fleet comms crackled to life, the different voices of officers and pilots echoing through the bridge.

"Multiple Legion ships appearing from out of nowhere!"

"They're breaching through the hull, they're boarding the ships!"

Peridot's eyes widened in shock as she quickly assessed the situation. "Deploy all available forces to the hangar bays and repel the invaders! Send a distress signal to Homeworld and request immediate assistance!" she barked out orders to her crew.

As her troops scrambled to defend against the invading Legion forces, Peridot quickly assessed the situation and tried formulating a plan in order for victory.

"Charge the mac cannons!" she ordered as Gem and Legion ships alike zipped and weaved throughout the battling fleets, many different miniature and massive explosions filling the void of space as they fought the impossibly massive congregated forces of Legion Ships.

Peridot watched as the mac cannons fired, taking out several Legion ships at once. But it was clear that they were vastly outnumbered and outgunned. The Legion forces were well-coordinated and seemed to be using tactics that the Gems had never seen before.

Peridot knew that they needed to regroup and come up with a new plan, but the situation was becoming increasingly dire. She watched as one of the Gem ships was hit by a massive explosion and started to drift away, completely disabled.

"Our soldiers are being pushed back, the legion soldiers have completely overrun the hangar bays and are now fighting their way through the ship's corridors!" a technician said as she threw out a holopad up to Peridot's console, a video feed of what was happening in their ship.

Hulking dark-colored Legion soldiers were hacking and shooting their way through gem soldiers as they tried to advance even further, though the gems were putting up a good fight, the overwhelming forces were just pushing them back.
