Unconditional Sides of Love [SasuNaru]

"State your name and how long you have known my client for the court please" Inoichi asked, after the young raven was sworn in.

"Sasuke Uchiha. I have known Naruto for just about our whole lives. We are childhood friends." Sasuke responded with a cool and calm demeanor.

"Were you both in the orphanage together?" Inoichi asked.

"Technically yes, but I was only there for about 2 months before my cousin was given legal custody of my brother and I" Sasuke clarified.

"Did you ever meet Sai?"

"If I did, he wasn't significant enough for me to remember. I only knew of him once he and Naruto got together." Sasuke stated flatly, causing Sai's upper lip to twitch slightly.

"What was your first impression of Sai?"

"I didn't really feel one way or the other about him at the time. My best friend was in a relationship and seemed happy, so I didn't think anything of it. It wasn't until a while later that I started to notice his behavior."

Naruto felt his palms sweat as he heard Sasuke speak. How he managed to keep such a calm demeanor, was mind blowing to the blond. Naruto was on the verge of another panic attack. He did not want to sit here and listen to Sasuke talk about him anymore.

"Can you elaborate?" Inoichi asked, causing Danzo to let out an annoyed sigh.

"At some point, his body language changed around people. He didn't want anyone near him, no one touching him, he would flinch at the slightest movements, especially when it came to me. There was one night I called out his name and I he turned pale like he had seen a ghost. After he disappeared that night at the bar, I found out from everyone else that he rarely made an appearance. It had been over 6 months since they had seen him."

"We will get to that night in a minute. Can you tell us about the night that you called the police?" Ionichi asked, never taking his eyes off of the man on the witness stand.

"I was coming home from my girlfriend's house. It was late at night, but I was supposed to work the next day, so I opted to go home, which I am glad I did. It had to be about 2am. It was raining pretty steadily and there wasn't a soul outside or on the road. I was driving down the road when I noticed someone slumped against a building. At first, I thought it was just someone who was drunk and had fallen asleep. But when I got closer, I noticed the bright blond hair, and instantly knew it was Naruto. When I walked over to him, he seemed out of it. Before I could get an answer as to why he was there, he had passed out. From there, I put him in my car and took him to my house. I had no idea where he lived, where he had been, where he came from... and I didn't have a way to get ahold of Sai either." Sasuke stated the last part reluctantly, but mentioned it as it was the truth at the time.

"Once we got back to my house, I was going to dry him off and change his clothes so I could dry the ones that were wet. I barely touched his shoulder and he freaked out. He was breathing heavy like something had scared him. When I tried to talk to him, he was really evasive. He wouldn't make eye contact and tried to get away from me as fast as possible. I had grabbed his wrist to try to stop and calm him down, and that's when I saw it. He tried to laugh it off" Sasuke frowned as he remembered how Naruto's nervous laugh unsettled him.

"After I saw his wrists, my suspicions surfaced. I told him to take off his shirt. That's how I found out Sai was abusing him" Sasuke stated, making Naruto's heart leap into his throat. He still remembered the look on Sasuke's face once he had lifted up his shirt. It was a look that he never wanted Sasuke to show to him. It was a look of pity.

"I had told Naruto to stay with me from that point on, so Sai couldn't get to him again. But Naruto only stayed for a night or two. And that was only because I had to practically force him to. He was trying to pretend like nothing happened and like he wasn't a rape victim"
