"Leaving already? Please just one more question, there are still so many things we would like to know about you. For instance, how do your glyphs work because a human can't do magic, right?" Now red flags were appearing in my head, how do they know about glyphs, who am I stuck with here?
"How do you know about glyphs?!"
"Well, we know you wrecked our sister in a magic duel so we would love to know how." As Edric finished his sentence he realized his slip-up. I immediately jumped away from them and took a fire glyph out of my pocket
"You are Blights! Stay back!"
"Hey, hey, Luz, we are not here to fight, we don't share worldviews with Amity. We were genuinely curious.
"And why should I suddenly trust you?"
"I... See Em, I told you, we should have told her immediately.
"If we did, she wouldn't have come with us." Emira joined the conversation.
"What's the difference, now she won't tell us anything anyway."
"First of all, stop arguing, you are making too much noise, second of all I can offer you a question-for-question conversation. Let me start, how did you even know about Amity's duel, I don't think she was too keen to share her defeat with others."
"She didn't, we just read her diary," Edric says and Emira immediately glares at him.
"Ed, you are saying too much, how does it make us look, think Ed, think. Since that is already out..." Emira rolls her eyes "Time for our question; How did you manage to beat Amity?"
"Well, we just dueled and I won, there is not much more to that, glyphs work similarly to your spells so they are not a super weapon or anything like that." I don't think that was the Emira expected but what can I say, they should be happy I'm answering any of their questions.
"And is there any possibility you would show us some of those glyphs since there are not all-powerful? We would love to prank Amity with them one day." I smile at them saying;
"Nope, don't know you, don't trust you. Wanna continue with the questions or we just split up and go our own ways."
"You are no fun..." Edric said
"That's life for you, see you around then." I say and walk away. I feel like I dodged a bullet here. If they were coven agents I would be in much more trouble and probably would have demolished half of the section.
I navigate between the bookshelves trying to figure out what sub-section I'm in and how I'm supposed to find the one book I'm looking for. It feels like the restricted section is bigger than the whole library and the labels of aisles are lacking at best. I quietly hope that I won't somehow stumble upon Malphas, he would be furious if he knew I snuck around here. Another thing that worried me was the presence of the Blight siblings, I still wasn't sure what they were truly up to but probably nothing good.
Surprisingly, after only a few minutes of searching, I located the wild magic section. Those were still 4 huge shelves but it should be a bit faster from now on. I made myself an ice ladder, maybe I'm not the shortest but I'm not 20 feet tall, that's for sure. Finally, after quite some time I found the book I was looking for. I rifled through the book to make sure I have the right one and indeed there was a chapter focusing on Titan's blood. I decided it was not the best time to read it and just put the book in my bag. I don't think anyone is keeping track of inventory here so there shouldn't be a problem with me lending this book.
I planned on leaving but I decided to stay I little longer and locate Amity's siblings. I don't want to leave them alone here without any supervision. I know they can get here anytime they want anyway, but at least I won't feel bad for anything. As I stroll between the aisles I notice their silhouettes in the potion section.
