Just as you're finishing up, you hear a horrendous screeching noise. "Come on, [Y/N]! We have to go, now!" Minho yelled at you. You didn't need to be told twice. "I'll get his arms and you get his legs. I know where to go." He yelled at you. You quickly abandoned the rest of Minho's shirt and picked up Thomas' legs. You both ran as fast as you could as you carried Thomas' body. It was difficult since you two were practically carrying dead body weight.

After carrying his body and running for what feels like an hour you spot something in the distance. It's huge and doesn't look like anything you've seen before. It doesn't see you or Minho or Thomas. But you notice that you're heading towards it. "Minho!" You whisper yell. He looks at you and sees the terrified look on your face. "Is that a Griever?" You ask absolutely petrified with your voice shaking. You both stop and Minho looks behind him. He turns back to you and nods. "What do we do?" You ask.

"We'll stop and hide behind this wall for a few minutes until it leaves. Then we run as fast as we can." You nod and begin running again. Once you two get to the wall you gently lie Thomas down. You look up at the sky.

"Minho. We don't have much time. The doors will close soon. And we need to get Thomas out of here to the Medjacks." You say quietly. He just looks at you and nods. You're more scared for Thomas than you are for yourself.

"Okay. I think it's gone now. Let's go." Minho says after a few minutes of waiting in silence. You both pick Thomas up again and start running. You trip over a rock and almost drop Thomas, but are able to keep your balance and keep ahold of his legs. You slow slightly, so you can pay more attention to where you're going.

"We're almost there!" Minho says. You look up at the sky again and see that the sun is setting. Adrenaline is setting in. You feel yourself speeding up. "Only two or three more turns. Let's try going a little faster." He says.

You both pick up the speed a little bit and within a couple of minutes you can hear the voices of the boys in The Glade. Your heart lifts sky high. Just then you feel the ground shake a little. "Minho," you ask shakily, "are there ever any earthquakes here?"

"Not that I know of," Minho replies in an equally shaky voice. "We have to hurry. One last sprint and we should be to The Doors." He says. "One... Tw-" his voice is cut off by another screeching noise. "Forget it! Just run!" He yells once the screeching stops. You will your legs to go faster and your arms to keep Thomas' legs up.

You both run as fast as possible. Your arms begin aching as the adrenaline fades. So does your leg muscles. It's getting harder to breathe. You begin to wonder if you're just out of shape or asthmatic. But you keep pushing yourself. Finally, you can see the doors ahead of you. You start picking up your speed again. But Minho was running too slow and so he tripped and you toppled over him and Thomas.

You instinctively let go of Thomas and fall on your wrists onto the hard ground. You yelp out in pain. You roll over on your side and scream in agony fully convinced that you have just broken both of your wrists. "[Y/N]!" Minho calls out. "Are you okay?!" You can hear the panic in his voice. You know you aren't okay, but you try getting up off of the ground. "Come on! We really have to hurry! The Doors are about to close!" He yells.

You get up off of the ground without using your hands or wrists as supports. It takes a few tries, but you finally do it. That's when the horrid thought hits you. "What about Thomas?!" You yell at Minho. You look over and see the unconscious boy lying on his back. His face looks so pale. Who knows how much blood he's lost.

"We have to leave him! Let's go!" Minho yells. You're all so close to getting out of The Maze alive. You feel tears streaming your cheeks. You've made up you're mind. There is no way you are leaving The Maze without Thomas. Instead of heading towards The Doors behind Minho you run towards Thomas' limp body. You get over to him and realize that you can't lift him because of your shoulders.

"Damn," you whisper to yourself. "Minho! We can't just leave Thomas!" You yell. He turns towards you and stops running. You can see in his eyes that he's silently pleading for you to run with him and leave Thomas behind. But you're a contrary person and refuse to leave him. He keeps his eyes locked on yours for a few seconds longer and starts running towards you. He's where you and Thomas are within thirty seconds.

"I can't pick him up," you say, "I hurt my wrists when I fell." Minho simply nods and grabs Thomas under his arms and drags him.

"Go." He says. You won't leave him. You run side-by-side until The Doors come into better view. Then you hear the strange clicks. "Go! They're closing. Go, now, [Y/N]!" Minho yells. You pick up the pace slightly, but you will not leave him to spend the night in The Maze. He's already done it once and if you have any control over it, he never will again.

"I'm not leaving you!" You yell at him. You turn back to see how far back he is. He'll be able to make it if you can help with Thomas. Pain or no pain you will help the rest of the way. You turn back and grab Thomas' legs. Pain explodes in your hands and wrists. You help, but refuse to let go.

"What are you doing?" Minho yells.

"I'm helping! Now shut up and go!" You yell right back. You both run as hard and as fast as you can without slowing. You can still hear the clicking of The Doors. They haven't started moving yet, but they will any second.

You hear the shouts of the others boys on the outside of The Maze. They're encouraging you and Minho to hurry. Just then, you see The Doors start to close. You're so close.

You hear the screeching noise again and when you see the look on Minho's face you already know that the Griever is right behind you. "Just a little farther!" You yell. You both start running faster. You're approximately fifteen yards away. The Doors don't close too fast, so you should be able to get out.

Ten yards. You make the mistake of looking behind you and see that the Griever is too close for comfort. You almost trip, yet again, but keep your balance. Eight yards. The Doors are halfway closed now. The boys' screams are almost as deafening as the Griever's.

Just as you reach five yards, the Griever slices the back of your calf. You scream out in pain. You feel the hot blood running from your leg. You already can't breathe from running so much, this only makes things worse. You keep pushing yourself, screaming every time your right leg hits the ground.

Everything from that moment on goes by in a blur. You got out of The Maze just as The Doors were closing. All of the boys were crowded around you, but you just wanted to make sure Thomas was okay. Your head was spinning and black dots were crowding your sight. You felt your face hit something hard and tasted blood.

"It's going to be okay, [Y/N]." You hear a voice say. At first, you don't recognize it, but then you see an Asian-looking boy with black hair on his knees beside of you. He has tears streaming down his face. That was the last thing you saw before the black dots took over your entire field of vision and everything went dark.
