In August 2020, The Warning signed a five-album deal with Lava Records, and began work on a new album with producer David Bendeth. The song "Choke" was released in May 2021. Later that year, The Warning appeared on the Metallica tribute album The Metallica Blacklist, performing another cover of "Enter Sandman", this time with singer Alessia Cara. The six-song EP Mayday was released in October 2021, and The Warning embarked on a tour of Europe in early 2022, performing more than 30 dates. They released the single "Money" in March 2022, and the song reached no. 31 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. The full-length album Error, comprising the six tracks from the Mayday EP plus "Money" and seven new songs, was released in June 2022. In July 2022, they embarked on a French tour and appearing at festivals like Rock en Seine, Vieilles Charrues, and Garorock.
On 12 January 2023, the band was chosen by France Télévisions to represent France in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with their song "DISCIPLE". They placed 3rd overall.
Solo career (2023-present)
Three weeks after the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, the band announced on their Instagram account that Clem was leaving the band. No clear explanations have been given about the departure of the drummer but rumours among fans stated that Clem was being left out of the band and had no say in any decisions. Her departure seemed to haven't been taken well by her sisters since both of them unfollowed the youngest on Instagram after the news broke out.
Simonet released her first EP "Alone for Once" in August 2023, two months after her departure. The EP featured six indie songs. In an interview, she said that she had recorded and produced everything by herself in the music studio she rented in Ljubljana where she had moved in after her departure.
Her first studio album "Moving On" was released in November 2023 and featured 12 new songs divided into two parts: 'Healing' and 'Feeling'.
In an Instagram post, following the positive replies to her album, she stated "I am pleased to see the positive reactions from all of you. It feels good to finally be able to make the music I want and that I enjoy. I know it is pretty far away from the hard rock most of you have known me from, but it doesn't mean that I won't make any rock songs in the future. Indie has been something I've wanted to do for a while and I'm glad I'm able to tell my stories through this music."
In June 2024 Simonet teased a new EP called "Roots" with the rock song "Teach Me To Fight". Responding to some fans' comments on Instagram she commented "Alternative Rock is where I come from and will always be a big part of my life". From the sneak-peak of the track list, Simonet posted on her Instagram story, the EP will be composed of 7 songs named "Teach Me To Fight", "Seize the Power", "Creature", "Rockstar", "Guilty (For Your Love)", "Call Me a Saint" and "Don't Wait 'Til Tomorrow".
Collaborations
For her first and only collaboration, Simonet collaborated with her friends from Joker Out on a single called "Are You Bored Yet ?" released in June 2024.
Eurovision Song Contest
On 11 January 2024, Clem Simonet was chosen by France Télévisions to represent France in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with her song "Amour toujours".
She performed on stage alongside the band Joker Out whom she had asked to play with her, stating on Instagram "When I was asked if I would perform on an instrumental version or with a band, my first thought was them. Thanks to them I became the person I am today and I couldn't live this moment without them".
In the final, she topped the public vote with 376 points, but ultimately finished in second place with 526 points overall. Fans spotted the similarities between her case and Käärijä who finished second with the same number of points during the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.
PERSONAL LIFE
Simonet lives in Ljubljana since late June 2023. She is dating Bojan Cvjetićanin, the singer of the Slovenian band Joker Out, whom she met during the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.
In an interview for Vogue France, Simonet said she learned to cook gluten-free food so "Nace [Jordan - bassist for Joker Out] wouldn't feel left out when everybody comes to eat at home. I don't want him to bring his own food when I can learn and everyone can eat the same thing"
