I nodded and we just stared at each other in complete silence.

"Get away from me." With that being said, I pushed his chair back to where it was and I exited out his office, out the police station and drove back to my house.

I can't believe this.. I can't win for losing. I tried to do a good thing and yet, I still got the bad end of the stick. This is crazy.

Lauren POV
Me, my girlfriend and my boyfriend are all sitting down eating breakfast. Keisha cooked this by the way. Keisha and Donald are engaging in conversation but me on the other hand? I been quiet. Because I have a lot on my mind.

"Aye, what's wrong with you? You been quiet and you've barely touched your food. What's up?" Donald asked me.

"I... I um..." "You what baby? Spit it out." Keisha coached. "Shon is in jail for murder." I confessed. Both, Donald and Keisha were shocked. Nobody said anything for a few seconds.

"Who did he murder?" Keisha questioned. "Allegedly his sister's babydaddy but I don't even know. When I asked him whether or not he was guilty, he told me in between." I spilled.

"The hell does that mean?" Keisha wondered. "I don't know. He didn't tell me the full story because he didn't know whether or not the jail was recording our conversation. But he told me that he will tell me everything if I come visit him."

Donald chuckled. "That nigga ain't killed nobody. He too much of a punk for that." Me and Keisha side eyed him.

"How is he a punk? Because last time I checked, you don't know him and never met him. And refusing to kill somebody doesn't make you a punk." I checked him.

"By the way you describe his personality, I can tell the nigga is soft as shit. So believe me when I say that he is innocent." He assumed.

Keisha rolled her eyes. "Girl, don't listen to him. Look I know you want to know the truth. You have every right to want to know. So just go visit him when you get a chance." She advised.

"I will. But what's really worrying me right now is Ari and Bri. They are going to be so disappointed when they find out what happened." Keisha held my hand, with a look of sympathy on her face.

"I know. But they are strong... just like you. So they got this." I smiled at her nice words.

But that smile quickly faded.

"I was suppose to put Ari and Bri in homeschool earlier this year because of the overwhelming pressure they faced from being famous but.. I never did. When this news gets out, that'll just make things worse and I don't want my daughters going through that. I really need to put them in homeschool as soon as possible." I panicked.

I let out a sigh of frustration and worry.

"Baby... I hate to break it to you but you won't be able to do that until next year. Summer break is almost 1 month away and at this time, no one is accepting new students. Not even homeschool programs." She stated, truthfully.

My eyes watered up and I covered my face with my hand.  "I wish I would've kept my mouth shut. Now my daughters have to deal with the public at a very young age. What have I done?" I exclaimed. Tears streamed down my face.

Donald got up and comforted me as well. "Be real with yourself Lauren. Yeah, you do play a part in this but... everyone was going to find out anyway. He was literally with The Penda Henson. It was impossible for them to keep that relationship private forever." Donald reminded me.

"Exactly. Just like I said, your daughters are strong just like you. Unfortunately, they are going to have to thug this out until the school year ends. They got this. Just give them encouraging words because they will need it." Said Keisha.
