"You swore off love?" he asked, his voice beginning to tremble.
I ran a hand through my hair. "I did."
His face fell. "So, this was never going to work? Were you just playing with me this whole time?"
My eyes widened and I cupped his cheek in my hand. "No! I didn't make a binding oath, and I would never mess with your feelings like that."
He looked at me skeptically, but didn't pull away. "Why should I believe you?" he asked. "How do I know you're not just like everyone else?"
My mind went on autopilot and I kissed him, desperately trying to get him to understand that I truly did love him. I was going to pull away when he froze, but soon after his hands tangled in my hair and he kissed me back passionately.
When we finally pulled apart, I had a large smile on my face. "Gods, I've been waiting so long to do that," I said breathlessly.
"Why did you wait?" he asked.
I bit my lip and looked away. "I physically couldn't bring myself to tell you how I felt, much less kiss you.
He smiled. "I thought that you didn't feel the same way," he whispered. "I mean, you're the king of the universe and I'm just... Loki. I'm nothing."
"You're perfect," I whispered back.
"You could have anyone you want, and you choose me?"
"Loki, I've wanted you ever since I saw you. I wanted you so much that it hurt. I've never wanted anything more than I want you. I want to know everything about you. I want you to be happy. I want you."
He just kissed me again and, this time, it was slow and gentle. It conveyed all the emotions that we couldn't put into words.
"I love you," I whispered when we pulled apart, our foreheads pressed together. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner."
He just smiled. "I didn't tell you either, Love."
I died. Figuratively, of course. "What do you say I take you out on an official date?" I asked.
"I think I'd love that," he said. "Now, do we go out and face everyone, or stay in here for a bit?"
"I think they'll get worried if we don't come out soon. Especially Nico and Bianca."
He hummed in agreement and we got ready to walk out.
"He's alive!" Piper shouted happily as soon as she saw me.
"I'm immortal," I deadpanned.
She rolled her eyes and gave me a big hug. "How'd it go, Blue?" she whispered in my ear.
I grinned. "I think I have officially gotten over my stupid mental block."
"You think?" Loki asked incredulously.
"Okay, okay. I have definitely gotten over my mental block."
"Good," Nico said from behind Piper. "I would hate for the months of work we did to be for nothing."
Silena just squealed happily. "Finally! It hurt so much watching you two!"
I felt bad because I knew she meant it literally. "Sorry, Lena," I mumbled.
She waved me off. "I get it. Oh, also, Jamison and Sam are going to be back in a couple of days, and the adoption process for Nolan and Kola is almost complete."
I grinned. "Wonderful! We can head into that orphanage soon, right?" I asked Bianca. "Because I don't want Jamie in there any longer than necessary. The man that runs the place is abusive, though they said he hasn't hurt them."
"Yes, we'll go in there soon," she promised. "We need to make sure Nolan and Kola are out of there first. Your kids can take care of themselves, but Loki's kids are still learning."
Loki was fuming next to me, so I turned to him. "They'll be okay, Loki. Jamie and Sam won't let anything happen to them."
He nodded and I gave him a smile before turning back to Bianca. "Sam's not my kid. He's Sarah's brother, not my son."
She rolled her eyes. "Protogenos of Family, here. He's your kid, whether official or not. Ask Sarah and make it official already."
I was silent, wondering if it was a good idea. Loki grabbed my hand and I turned to look at him. "I've seen you two interact," he said quietly. "Bianca is right, for once." He ignored her indignant expression. "Just ask Sarah and adopt him. Let him know you feel the same way."
I nodded, brightening as I had an idea. "What if we go in there, looking to adopt? We can talk to the kids and adopt Sam!"
"We?" Loki asked.
The others walked away to give us some privacy as I looked away awkwardly. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to go so fast. I just meant that it's less suspicious for a couple to go in than a single person."
He just smiled and kissed me. "I understand, Love. I'd be happy to accompany you as you adopt your sons."
I grinned. "Thanks, Lokes. I appreciate it."
Piper bounded over, closely followed by Bianca. "Well? What'd you two decide?" Piper asked excitedly.
"I'm going to accompany him as he adopts Sam," Loki said.
"What about Jamison? They're acting as twins, you know. Splitting them up wouldn't be the best idea," Bianca informed me.
I hummed. "I'll adopt both of them. It wouldn't actually be a real adoption, considering they are using aliases. I would have to officially adopt Sam later."
"Go talk to Sarah and then you can go," Piper said, pushing me in the direction of Sarah's room.
Loki stayed back but gave me an encouraging smile. I knocked and Sarah answered.
"What's up, Perce?"
"Can I come in?" I asked timidly.
She shrugged. "Sure."
I followed her inside and she looked at me curiously. "What's this about, Percy?"
"I want to know if you would be okay with me adopting Sam," I said. "He's already like a son to me, but I never thought of actually adopting him until today."
"Of course I am. It would be good for him to have a father again. I found one in Tartarus, but Sam found one in you," she said, placing a hand on my shoulder.
I smiled gratefully and said, "Well, then I should get going. There's no way I'm leaving my kids in that orphanage any longer."
She nodded and I left with a large grin.
"Come on, Lokes," I said. "Let's go adopt some kids."
