"What a night," he mumbled, searching for the teapot as we all took seats around him. "Nine raids. Nine! And old Mundungus Fletcher tried to put a hex on me when I had my back turned..."
Mr. Weasley took a long gulp of tea and sighed warily.
"Find anything, Dad?" Fred asked, eager to have more things to mess around with.
"All I got were a few shrinking door keys and a nasty biting kettle," Mr. Weasley said, yawning. "There was some pretty bad stuff that wasn't in my department, though. Mortlake was taken away for questioning about some extremely odd ferrets, but that's the Committee on Experimental Charms, thank goodness..."
I laughed at the mention of odd ferrets. It reminded me of Draco, and what was going to happen to him in fourth year. If I was still around by then, which I probably would be, I was definitely going to not prevent him becoming a ferret from happening. Suddenly, an idea sparked in my head. Why not just learn the spell myself so I could make him a ferret whenever I wanted? Brilliant!
Mr. Weasley thought I was laughing about the shrinking keys and he said, "The shrinking keys are for Muggle-baiting. Sell them a key that keeps shrinking to nothing so they can never find it when they need it...Of course, it's hard to convict anyone because no Muggle would admit their key keeps shrinking— they'll insist they just keep losing it. Bless them, they'll go to any lengths to ignore magic, even if it's staring them in the face...But the things our lot have taken to enchanting, you wouldn't believe—"
"LIKE CARS FOR INSTANCE?"
Mrs. Weasley appeared, holding a fireplace poker and brandishing it like a sword. Mr. Weasley's sleepy and tired eyes suddenly jerked open as he stared guiltily at his angry wife.
"C-cars, Molly, dear?"
"Yes, Arthur, cars," she said, her eyes flashing with rage. Boy was her husband in trouble. I was getting scared again. "Imagine a wizard buying a rusty old car and telling his wife all he wanted to do with it was take it apart and see how it worked, while really he was enchanting it to make it fly."
Mr. Weasley blinked, caught red-handed.
"Well, dear, I think you'll find that he would be quite within the law to do that, even if— er— he maybe would have done better to, um, tell his wife the truth... There's a loophole in the law, you'll find... As long as he wasn't intending to fly the car, the fact that the car could fly wouldn't—" The nervousness in Mr. Weasley's voice astounded me. Molly really had a strong and iron grip on everyone in the household. Her wrath was something you did not want to be directed at you.
"Arthur Weasley, you made sure there was a loophole when you wrote that law!" She shouted. "Just so you could carry on tinkering with all that Muggle rubbish in your shed! And for your information, Harry and Y/n arrived this morning in the car you weren't intending to fly!"
"Harry and Y/n?" He asked blankly. "Who?"
He looked around and then jumped when he saw Harry and I sitting next to each other.
"Good lord, is it Harry Potter? And Y/n L/n? I'm very pleased to meet you two, Ron and Ginny have told us so much about—"
"Your sons flew that car to Harry's house and back last night!" Mrs. Weasley shouted. "What have you got to say about that, eh?"
"Did you really?" Mr. Weasley said eagerly. "Did it go all right? I— I mean," he faltered when he saw the fire in Mrs. Weasley's eyes, "that— that was very wrong, boys— very wrong indeed..."
"Let's leave while we still can," Fred whispered in my ear. I nodded and followed him and George upstairs.
"Sorry that you had to meet our dad this way. It's a shame he wasn't here when you came over, you would've seen him without mum yelling," George said.
"That's alright," I said, smiling at the two of them. When we reached the third landing, I noticed a door that was ajar. A pair of brown eyes stared out of it and when I made eye contact with them they sparked with excitement.
The door flew open and Ginny came dashing out, greeting me with a warm and big hug.
"Y/n! You're back! I thought you would never visit us again since the twins and Ron had probably scared you off. I'm so glad you decided to come back. Come in, let's get your mattress set up! I have so many questions now that I'm finally going to be at Hogwarts!"
Ginny whisked me away into her room and I silently waved goodbye to the twins as the door was slammed shut.
"Finally, a female in the house that's almost my age! I was so sad after you left. Oh, I've been using Ron's wand and practicing the spells you taught me. Of course, they don't come out as good since it's not my wand, but I guarantee that when I do get my wand the spells will be perfect!" Ginny squealed.
"I'm glad to hear that Ginny," I said, hugging her and giving her a warm smile. It was nice being back with her again, and back here at The Burrow, a place I used to dream of hiding away in.
A/n: Hi...I'm back...again...
I know I can't keep doing this which is why I'm going to be as honest as I can with you guys. I lost the motivation to write for a little bit. I lost my creativity and I just stared at the blank document anytime I tried to write. I got caught up with finals since I am in school and I focused entirely on them. I did keep checking my 抖阴社区 notifications every day though and it made me happy knowing that people were still interacting with this book despite me being gone without a word.
I was scared to outright tell everyone that I needed another break when I had just had one. I thought people would be mad at me and I couldn't bear the thought of that. So, I thought, "I should just drop dead and not post anything for a while until I write again." Which is exactly what I did.
The point is, I have a lot of excuses but none of them can really justify what I've done to all of my readers that wait for new chapters of this book.
I'm truly sorry to everyone. What I did was not the right thing to do, and I should've found another solution.
To also lessen the chance of me doing this again, I'm going to posting once a week every Saturday. Once I write more chapters and get better, I will try and update more consistently.
I apologize for everything and I am sincerely grateful to anyone that is still willing to read and support me.
