69. Trauma

The boy couldn't help but sob before he looked at her with tear eyes. He soon felt her rub her thumbs over his cheeks softly before he felt her kiss his head. "It's okay now bub.. it's all done. The hard part is over.." she stated before she pulled away. "Now let me put the bandages on then we can go back to sleep. Okay baby?" She said. "O-okay.." he said quietly before he wiped away his wet cheeks. Wanda smiled sadly at him, she then went ahead to wrap around the bandages. Matteo couldn't help but do a shiver, he then watched as Wanda get done. "There we go. All done." She said with a smile. Matteo then watched her throw away the dirty bandage in the trash before she picked him up. Matteo sniffled a bit as he soon laid against her. "You did good baby. It's all over now." She said softly before she turned the light of with her magic. She then went over to the bed and placed Matteo down. The boy sniffled and soon looked over at the window.

Wanda couldn't help but look at him with sad eyes. "What is it baby?" She asked as she placed her hand on the boys long curly hair. Matteo looked up at her with sad eyes before speaking "outside?..." Wanda couldn't help but sigh "it's dark outside. In the morning when you wake up we can go outside okay?" She reasoned with him. Matteo did a small huff before nodding "Kay.." he said softly. Wanda nodded at him before she soon went and made Matteo slowly lay down. Matteo just watched her, he then seen her go and walk around the bed and get on the other side and lay down next to him. Matteo slowly turned on his side and looked at Wanda who soon looked at him. Matteo couldn't help but look at her and still make sure it all wasn't in his mind. Wanda sighed already knowing what Matteo was thinking, she then reached over and started to caress Matteo's cheek. "Go to sleep bubba. I'll be here when you wake up. Mama's not going anywhere. I promise. You can rest now.." she cooed out. Matteo looked into her eyes before he finally started to drift asleep from her comfort.

As Wanda finally knew when Matteo was finally asleep she soon felt herself tear up. She couldn't stand how Matteo was in so much pain. She wished she could just take it all away, but she knew that she couldn't. She even wished she could take away his bad memories from all the trauma he dealt with, but she sadly couldn't do all of his memories. All she wanted was for Matteo to feel okay and not feel any pain. The woman sniffled and soon wiped away her own tears. 'I won't let anything bad happen to you again Matteo. I promise.' She thought to herself before she scooted closer to Matteo and soon wrapped her arms around him. Wanda soon felt Matteo snuggle closer to her, she couldn't help but smile softly before she soon felt herself slowly starting to drift asleep.

5 hours later
9:37 am

Matteo woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside. The boy opened his eyes slowly to see his sister sleep still but hugging him. Matteo looked over his shoulder a bit to see the window, to which he seen the sun beaming through. The boy then did a small grunt from the pain he was in when he moved back. Before he knew it he heard and felt as Wanda slowly started to wake up. Matteo couldn't help but watch her.

Right as the woman opened her eyes and let out a small yawn she soon looked down to see the 12 year old look already awake watching her. "Morning bubba." She said tiredly. Matteo just looked at her before he snuggled into her. Wanda just chuckled before rubbing the boys back. "You know we have to get up soon bub if you still want to go outside that is." She spoke out. Matteo pulled away before looking at Wanda with big pleading eyes. "Alrighty well let's get going then. Come up bubba" she spoke out as she pulled away from him and got out of bed leaving the boy. Matteo just huffed before he slowly got out of bed. Wanda just smiled before she went ahead and started to go and walk out of the room. Matteo soon followed her and went ahead to go sit at the table already knowing the routine.

Wanda went ahead to make Matteo something light to eat since he was still getting back in the habit of eating. Once Wanda was done washing and cutting up fruit she grew from her garden she then went over and gave it to Matteo. "(Thank you mama.)" he said softly in his native language before going ahead to eat his breakfast. "(You're welcome baby.)" she replied before walking over with some fruit and a cup of tea. Once Matteo was done with his small bowl of fruit he soon looked down at his bandaged arm he soon looked at his bandaged body and huffed quietly. Wanda looked up at him and frowned already knowing what Matteo was thinking. "It's okay bubba." She cooed out. Matteo look over at her before he sighed and looked down at his hands. "W-why did she make me alive again?..." Matteo asked.
