Hazel's POV
I'd never been to a red carpet before. And I don't have a personal stylist like Avery does, so I had no clue what to wear. I got my outfit two days before; a sequin black dress with matching heels. Alfie was wearing a matching suit, looking perfect as always. Avery insisted her outfit remain a 'surprise', however Madison hinted that they would both be wearing something gold.
It's crazy to think that it was already six months ago when we all met. So much has happened since then. I'm in college now, and I quit my job. Avery, Madison and Ed are in a real movie, which sounds crazy. They're all like proper Hollywood stars at this point. I mean, Avery even has a publicist. And I'm so proud. And being with Alfie has made this year the best year yet.
The venue was filled with excitement as we mingled with the other guests. Despite being surrounded by the unfamiliar glamorous world of Hollywood, I felt grounded with Alfie by my side, his hand never leaving mine.
"So, Hazel, how does it feel to be at your first red carpet event?" Avery asked, her eyes twinkling with excitement.
"I'm just happy to be here for you. Seeing you in a real movie is beyond amazing."One of my old school friends happened to be part of the production crew.
"Willow?" Alfie and I wandered over to her as she waved at us.
"Hazel! I haven't seen you since high school!"
"It's been forever. How are you?"
"Better than ever, thanks to this one," I say, grinning up at Alfie.
"I'm Alfie, nice to meet you," he added.
Willow turned to me playfully. "How did you two meet?"
Alfie smiled warmly and wrapped his arm around me. "It's a pretty long story. But basically, we met at a hotel. It's actually where we met Avery too, funnily enough."
I giggled. "Yeah, it was a lucky accident, and I'm grateful for it every day."
"I'm so happy for you guys," Willow smiled.
Alfie leaned in to kiss my cheek, and I blushed again."And I'm so happy to see you again!" I added.
Alfie and I wandered off to the exclusive cinema where the premiere was taking place.
On the way, he made sure to get us a massive bucket of popcorn, reminding me of the night I told him I loved him for the first time.
"Alfie. You're the best thing that ever happened to me." I whispered.
He laughed softly, brushing his fingers through my hair. "You're my best thing too, Hazel."
