The Shakespeare Code

He glares at her, pouncing up to stand above her. "Oh, big mistake. Because that name keeps me fighting. The Carrionites vanished. Where did you go?"

The witch stood from her seat, moving away from the Doctor and towards the window. "The Eternals found the right word to banish us into deep darkness."

"And how did you escape?"

"New words. New and glittering, from a mind like no other."

"Shakespeare." The Doctor sighed in realisation, an image of Shakespeare appearing in the cauldron between them.

"His son perished. The grief of a genius. Grief without measure. Madness enough to allow us entrance."

"How many of you?"

"Just the three. But the play tonight shall restore the rest. Then the human race will be purged as pestilence. And from this world we will lead the universe back into the old ways of blood and magic."

"Hmm." The Doctor hummed, pretending to sound shocked by the words, as he moved to stand directly opposite the witch. "Busy schedule. But first you've got to get past me."

"Oh, that should be a pleasure, considering my enemy has such a handsome shape." She marvelled, stroking one of her hands down his face.

"Now, that's one form of magic that's definitely not going to work on me." He told her, trying his best not to flinch away.

"Oh, we'll see." She pulls some hairs from his head, walking back to the window.

The Doctor touched the back of his head. "What did you do?"

"Souvenir." She mocked, waving his hair in front of her face.

"Well, give it back." He glared at her. She extends her arms, flying out the window backwards. "Well, that's just cheating." The Doctor grumbled to himself as she floated just past the window.

"Behold, Doctor. Men to Carrionites are nothing but puppets." She pulls out a doll, wrapping his hair around the doll. From behind the Doctor, Raelle starts to stir, rubbing her eyes as she takes in the sight before her.

"Now, you might call that magic. I'd call that a DNA replication module." The Doctor countered.

"What use is your science now?" The witch stabs the doll, causing the Doctor to scream in pain, falling to the floor as she flies away. Raelle pushes herself up off the floor, rushing over to the Doctor. No movement from the Doctor. She tries not to panic as she pushes him onto his back.

"Doctor? Doctor! Don't worry, I've got you." She comforted him. She pauses, looking down at him before giving him a whack on the chest. She glares down at him. "Stop being dramatic Mr two hearts."

The Doctor sighed, opening his eyes. "At least I fooled someone." He grumbled again, moving to stand. "Ah!" He cried out in pain, falling into Raelle's arms. Raelle stumbles slightly, her arms going around the Doctor's waist as she holds him up. "I've only got one heart working. How do you people cope?" Raelle rolled her eyes as the Doctor spoke in tight breaths. "I've got to get the other one started. Hit me! Hit me on the chest!" He opens his chest out for Raelle to hit as Raelle gives him a powerful smack on the left side of his chest. "Dah!" He cries out in even more pain, giving Raelle a glare. "Other side." She quickly smacks the right side. "Now, on the back, on the back." Smack. "Left a bit." She raises both her hands together, giving him a powerful smack as she cries out in relief. "Dah, lovely. There we go. Badda booma!" He smirks.

Realising he would be just fine, Raelle couldn't resist rolling her eyes again, grabbing ahold of his hand. "Come one! The Globe!"

They rush out onto the streets, trying to find their way back. The Doctor charges in front, as Raelle calls out to him. "We're going the wrong way!"
