The Wolfwalker Guardian PART II

Audrey's POV

I woke up and I still couldn't believe that I saw a real tree and know that the forest that I thought it was gone was still near here! I was eating breakfast and thinking of Lily. She seems to be an energetic girl and funny, even though Ted doesn't like her that much. Even though she said she was fine something was still bothering me a little. She said that the Wolfwalkers are wolves when their bodies sleep, if she is a Wolfwalker is because her parents are too. Now, when we were in the cave, they were asleep, that means that they were wolves by that time. Ted and I ran through all the forest and we never saw them and I don't think they were in another part of the forest and would leave Lily alone since I think she is just 5 years old, that's just...weird, maybe I can ask her later today. After I I finished my breakfast, I got dressed with my favorite clothes and went to a store to buy more paint for my backyard. When I was going to touch the bucket of paint, my wrist started glowing for a moment. I looked it close and it was like Lily's magic.

"Psst! Townie!" I heard that familiar voice and turned around to see Lily hiding behind some boxes.

"Lily?!" I said and immediately grabbed her and I got us inside a storage room to talk.

"Miss me?" she said smiling.

"What are you doing here?! I thought you went back to the forest"  I said.

"Oh! I did, but I was getting bored at playing poker with my grandpa, I don't even know how to play. Anyway, so I waited until he fell asleep and climbed here and wanted to see you! Mostly you because the other townie is a party pooper, also, the air here stinks!" Lily said making a disgusted but funny face.

"It's sweet of you to do that just to see me but what if someone sees you?" I said worried since she doesn't look like someone who lives here.

"Don't worry about that. I'm very fast and agile. No one saw me." Lily said but started sniffing the air.

"Smell that?" she asked me.

"Uh.. are you talking about the air?" I said.

"No *sniff sniff* Oooo! Marshmallows!" she said happily getting out of the room and I immediately got out of there and start looking for her outside the store. Then I saw a mini market in front of me and run to it. I saw her with 5 bags of marshmallows covering her face as they were too big for her.

"Lily, don't run like that. Here let me help you" I said taking 3 bags.

"You like marshmallows?" I asked her.

"Yeah, Daddy doesn't let me have a lot of them, but since he is not here.... I can eat them all! :3" she said.

"Hey umm, your parents know you are here?" I asked her.

"Oh....yeah, they know" Lily said looking away a little sad, that look didn't convince me at all but I think she doesn't want to tell me.

" Oh..ok, hey, how about we call Ted and go to the forest and eat these marshmallows?" I said and when I mentioned Ted, she gave me an annoyed look.

"Oh come on he is not so bad. Maybe if you call him by his name, you will see he is kind" I said.

" *groaned* Fine, but he is still a townie" she said and I chuckled.

We called Ted and went to the forest, a sunny day with that butterfly milk smell <3.

"Lily, you left me in the middle of the game also why these two are here again?" Lorax said raising an eyebrow.

"First, they are my friends now! They got me marshmallows! And secondly, I still don't understand that boring game" Lily said. The Lorax looked at us up and down but then sighed and nod at us, I think he is ok with it. We sat on a trunk and eat some marshmallows, some Barb-a-loots were there eating too, they are so cute! Lily was being serious when she mentioned that she likes them, she is eating a whole package!

"So seriously no one caught you?" Ted asked her and eat some marshmallows. Lily just finished the package and burped so loud.

"Nope, nobody can catch me town- Ted" she said and I laughed. Since we were in the highest part of the forest, we could see Thneedville far away.

"How can you still live in there? That air is terrible!" Lily said.

"You are right...comparing here it's way much better" Ted said.

" This place is amazing and extraordinary....now I don't like being stuck in there" I said looking at the ground.

"Why don't you stay here? It's great. Fresh air, running around, animals to hug *hug a little Barb-a-loot*" Lily said.

"I wish we could but...we can't...our families and everyone thinks that's the paradise." Ted said.

" This forest was once connected to that village, but then....the uh.. evil Greedler, started chopping down trees. You three have seen Lily's parents, they stopped him and saved the forest....but we divided since people was starting to throw their garbage here" the Lorax said.

" Really?!Wow! Cool! Can we meet them Lily?" Ted asked her and she rubbed her arm.

"....They are not here" she said.

"What? They weren't inside the cave?" Ted asked.

"Yeah, but they went off.." she said.

"As wolves?" I asked her and took her cape off and take a brush out of my backpack and started brushing her long blonde hair.

"Yeah, they wanted to see if there was some place else to plant more trees since they noticed the village was getting bigger....I'm sure it's a biiig place, with no townies around and lots of food! It would be amaaaiizing" Lily said laying on my lap as I kept brushing her hair, getting the leaves out of her hair to get clean.

"Sooo, where are they?....You think they got caught?" Ted asked her and Lily folded her arms and got up.

"No, they are fine. Nobody can't catch my mommy and daddy! And anyway, if they were caught by some townies, I get my wolves to eat them!" Lily said and the Lorax calmed her down.

"So.. you are waiting for them to come back?" I asked her.

"Yep, it's just me, them...against a whole world who doesn't care of nature" she said.

"I'm just saying, if they got caught, what if someone else finds the forest?" Ted asked her.

"No, they won't. Nobody has" she said smiling at him.

"Well we did" he said and she giggled.

"Yeah *giggles* only cause I let you" Lily said getting down the trunk and run to the lake and jump to it.

"Come on!" Lily yelled at us to come, we laughed and jumped to the lake, Ted grabbed the Lorax and get him in the lake too.

"Hey!" Lorax said and we laughed and the fishes laughed too.

After 2 hours of having fun, drying ourselves.

" You know, my grandma told me about a Wolfwalker! I thought it was a fantasy part of her story, but I was wrong! We didn't know the Wolfwalkers were real. That they were actually people" Ted said. I looked up to the sky and it was getting dark.

"We better go back" I said and Lily appeared upside down since she was hanging from a small tree.

"Awww" she the stick her tongue and I laughed as she got down.

"Hey, we are gonna help you, wait for us in that trunk tomorrow. I can bring you some marshmallows" I said.

"Oo! Alright so, smell you later townies" she said and started walking away.

"Not if we smell you first!" Ted said and I laughed. Lily laughed too and runaway also with her hands, like a wolf and we ran to the wall and come back to the town safely.
