CHAPTER 32

 Naruto's question prompted a shift in Y/N's demeanor. Her usual stoicism returned, and her response was minimalistic, lacking the warmth of the previous exchange. "It was a jutsu. Shingen disappeared, and that's that," she replied curtly.

Sakura exchanged a concerned glance with Naruto, sensing the tension in Y/N's response. However, she chose not to press the matter further, understanding that Y/N might not want to discuss it at the moment.

Naruto, ever the optimist, tried to lighten the mood with a grin. "Well, let's not dwell on it then! Sasuke's match is up next, and we should be there to cheer him on!"

As the time for Sasuke's match with Gaara approached, Y/N's demeanor underwent a noticeable change. She sat at the edge of her seat, her eyes fixed on the arena, observing every movement and assessing each strategy.

The fight began with Sasuke utilizing his Sharingan to analyze Gaara's moves and predict his attacks. However, Gaara proved to be a formidable opponent with his ability to manipulate and control sand. He could create a defensive shield of sand that protected him from Sasuke's strikes.

Sasuke demonstrated that his speed had vastly increased, to the point where the sand guarding Gaara could not keep up.

Gaara's control over sand continued to pose a significant challenge. Gaara relied on his own jutsu called the "Sand Coffin," which allowed him to immobilize his opponent by surrounding him with a suffocating layer of sand. He also used the "Sand Burial" technique to entomb Sasuke within a massive mound of sand. 

Sasuke unleashed his Lightning Blade technique, which allowed him to strike Gaara with incredible speed and precision. With this newfound strength, Sasuke unleashed his Chidori technique, striking Gaara's sand shield and temporarily overpowering it.

As Sasuke initiated his powerful Chidori technique, the atmosphere crackled with electrical energy, ready to unleash its devastating power.

However, the serenity of the moment was shattered by a sudden ambush, catching everyone off guard.

Y/N's eyes widened as she instinctively assessed the situation, her mind quickly processing the unfolding events.

With her keen perception, she noticed that only a handful of individuals remained unaffected. 

Temari and Kankuro were busy trying to assist their distressed brother Gaara, whose behavior had taken a bizarre turn.

Sasuke, caught in the midst of his Chidori technique, had frozen in place, unable to complete his attack. 

Y/N swiftly analyzed the area, her senses honed to detect any potential threats. A familiar chakra signature sent a chill down her spine, prompting her to take immediate action.

Without hesitation, Y/N took off, her agility and speed propelling her towards the source of the familiar chakra. 

The urgency in her movements conveyed her understanding of the imminent danger.

"Y/N!?" Kakashi watched in disbelief as Y/N swiftly dashed away, leaving him momentarily stunned.

That reckless child.
