"It'd be a fresh start on a new world." Agent two explained trying to rope him in as his voice echoed.

And the pay is good." Agent one grinned, looking at Jake, a man who was a war veteran, stuck in a wheel chair due to his spinal injury from the war. "Very good." His voice kept echoing.

*My POV*

A large jet descended from the ship, down onto the planet of Pandora. Carrying mainly new recruited soldiers due to the loss of life sustained on Pandora that was occurring daily.

"Exo-packs on! Let's go! Exo-packs on! Let's go!" The Chief shouted to all the recruits.

"Exo-packs on! Let's go!" The assistant yelled after handing them out.

Each of the people on board now held a device in their hands, a face shield of sorts, that locked under their chins, allowing them to breathe the toxic Pandora air.

"Remember, people, you lose that mask, you're unconscious in 20 seconds, you're dead in four minutes!" The Venture Star Crew Chief relayed to the recruits. "Let's not have nobody be dead today! Looks very bad on my report!"

"Might as well let them die then." I mumbled to Jake who chuckled.

"Hell's Gate Tower, this is TAV 1-6 on approach. Crossing outer marker. Mine is in sight." The pilot relayed over the radio as they began their descent.

The large aircraft crossed over a massive hole in the ground known as the mine, with large trucks and machinery inside busily working away, tearing apart the landscape. I looked out the window and my heart and head immediately began to hurt. Like I was connected somehow.

They were searching of the stone they were looking for. The air craft made it to the large, heavily guarded base landing on the ground. Jake and I placed the masks on our faces and waited for the other recruits to move first. Just because I could walk on both of my legs, doesn't mean I'm leaving my best friend behind.

"One life ends, another begins." Jake thought to himself. Jake took a deep breathe.

I looked out the window I felt the presence of the Great Mother Ewya with me. I was confused. Why was she with me? I'm human not a Na'vi.

"Harnesses off! Get your packs!" The Chief commanded. Jake and I along with the others undid our buckles. "Put it together, let's go! Let's go! One minute! When that ramp comes down, go directly into the base. Do not stop! Go straight inside. Wait for my mark!" The back gate door began to open revealing the outside world to us. "All I heard was nonsense." I whispered to Jake as he chuckled again.

"Go, go, go, go, go! Get out there! Keep moving! Let's go, let's go!" The Chief demanded.

Jake and I watched the other recruits file in a line up towards the building once everyone was clear of us, he took out his wheelchair and pulled his body over into it, adjusting his thin legs onto the seat, me helping him of course. He and I are best friends after all.

"There's no such thing as an ex-marine. You may be out, but you never lose the attitude. I told myself I could pass any test a man could pass." Jake narrated as he tossed the bag up onto his shoulders. preparing to leave the ship with me.

Oh, right. I went to Avatar training, but that doesn't mean I didn't build my strength up, so if any guy flirts with me, I'm gonna beat their asses.

"Let's go, special case! Do not make me wait for you!" The Chief yelled back to Jake. "Sweetheart~" He eyed me. Jake began rolling himself forward in the wheel chair and down the ramp.

I gave the Chief a death glare and followed him.

"Well, well, well ladies." Corporeal Lyle eye'd the new recruits as they jogged by him and his partner towards the building. "look at all this fresh meat! Whoo!"
