Dean then turned to Crowley and held his hand out for the First Blade.
When the demon held up the blade in his hand. It was no longer sheathed in the shabby cloth. "Do I have your word that you'll give it back when you're done?" His voice hitched at the end.
Dean's eyes never left Crowley as he answered. "If I survive and I come out of there and I don't give it back, you've got a bigger problem on your hands..."
On that Crowley handed Dean the blade and your eyes focused on his fingers as they gripped the hilt. But something pulled your eyes out of focus. There was a familiar tingling feeling creeping over your skin as Dean's hand became red where the skin touched the bone. Your body was buzzing with pins and needles but the burning feeling didn't come.
"Dean?" Sam questioned unsure.
The older Winchester looked towards the sound of his brothers voice. His eyes wide and alert while the rest of his face, seemed in shock. You were worried just as much as Sam seemed to have sounded. The only problem was you had lost your voice. The feeling bubbling under your skin while not helping, was slowly fading and you pushed it to the back of your thoughts. Willing it away to focus on Dean.
"I'm good." Dean affirmed simply, before he turned around to walk up the stairs that would take him to the loft. When he reached the top, he looked back down over the wooden banister at you all. His eyes locked on yours and you mouthed 'you got this.'
With that, Dean opened the door and entered the room were Cain was waiting for him. Sliding the heavy door behind him the second he stepped foot inside.
A few minutes had passed and you found another hay bale to sit on. Your hands placed in your pockets of your jacket to protect as much skin as you could from the cold night air. You were tired, but everyone was. And you made up your mind then and there to not fall asleep until you were all back at home in the bunker. Hopefully snuggled into Dean's side. You would stay awake as long as he did.
The wait was agonising though, making it harder to focus on something other than your body. While the tingling feeling under your skin had ebbed, it had confused the fuck out of you. You were certain you hadn't been in any danger just now. So it just didn't make sense.
You didn't have much time to ponder over it as Crowley's constant fascination with you had gained your attention. Had he noticed something then too? When Dean took the blade from his hands, did he sense the changes in your body?
If he did, he didn't say anything, neither did Cass. And yet Crowley continued to stare in your direction. In your mind, you told him to take a picture so it lasted longer. But you dared not say anything for fear of him attempting a conversation with you. Something was definitely going on under the head of wiry hair. You just didn't want to know what.
Perhaps Crowley was a mind reader. Maybe your body language gave off a sign that you were uncomfortable around him. It could have been his own desire to fuel his curiosity. Whatever it was, he walked closer to you. His hands in his pockets and a smirk as he did so.
When Sam noticed his approach towards you, he moved swiftly to stand in front of you. He attempted to block Crowley's view, but it was an impossible feat in the large open space.
"It appears you have a bodyguard Koala." The demon chuckled to himself. "I'm curious though?... Why are Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum so insistent on separating the two of us?... I merely want to have a chin wag with my fellow non-American. You're far more interesting to look at than this ghastly barn."
Crowley stepped to his right and Sam moved to his left, causing the demon to chuckle more. "I won't touch her Moose... You have my word." His hands left their pockets and raised in submission. "Tell me though, is it you or your brother that's banging the Koala?"
