"Y/N?"

What?

"..."
"Oh, it's you Rin."

You turn around to face him as you put on a small smile. He doesn't notice, right?

"Y/N, you're drenched. Did you forget your umbrella? Even your face is soaked. It looks like you just took a bath," Rin says, shaking his head afterwards.

That's good, he doesn't notice a thing.

"Yeah...I forgot my umbrella at home.." You chuckle, scratching your neck awkwardly. You didn't want him to know that you cried, so you tried to lighten the mood a bit. Rin just sighs and jogs to get beside you, putting his jacket around you as he holds his umbrella.

"Are you feeling better now?"

With the way your heart is beating so fast right now, you loathe yourself even more. Rin is taken and he's happy, you shouldn't allow yourself to feel this way. You shouldn't.

"Yeah, I guess," you murmur, looking back down on the ground as you kept making your way to your apartment with him by your side. To say it was awkward would be an understatement. Rin hadn't said a word to you, and you just stayed silent, hoping it would stay that way. You didn't really expect him to just suddenly reappear in your life this way. Not with you crying in the rain and then him calling out to you from behind.

The rain keeps pouring down, as Rin makes sure to cover the both of you with his umbrella. He puts an arm around you to pull you close to him.

"The rain could still reach you, so I did what I had to do. Don't want you getting sick even more," he mutters out, his hand on your shoulder.

Why does he even care so much?

You keep your mouth shut, not knowing what to say. You were usually quite talkative whenever it was just you two, but you didn't really feel like doing so in the moment. Rin seems to take notice, but doesn't call you out on it. Maybe you just had an exhausting day, he assumed. The both of you just walk by in silence, just a few more steps before you reach your destination. Just a few more minutes of tolerance and you'll be able to go on with your life, away from him.

After a few more steps that felt like forever, you did it. You reached your apartment. You had never felt more delighted to see your doorstep, desperate to wiggle your way out of this situation.

Just as your hand reached for the door handle, something or a certain someone takes a hold of your wrist.

"Y/N, we need to talk."

Those were the words you tried so hard to avoid coming from him, but it ended in a fail.

"Oh.."

"Sure, what is it?" You respond, not turning back around to face him due to your tears leaving a stain on your cheeks. How come the tears of the rain dried faster than the ones that decorated your face? You didn't get it.

"Are you feeling alright? I had an odd feeling the whole time I walked beside you, so I just wanted to..ask. If you don't mind of course."

He clears his throat, a bit embarrassed for asking something like that out of the blue.

"..Yeah, I'm fine," you reply, twisting the door handle. Rin's face scrunches up slightly, he still feels unusual. He keeps a hold on your wrist, not letting go.

"I know that's not the truth," Rin says, having a tight grip. You try to shake your hand to get it off, but it's clear he won't budge.

"And? How are you so sure of yourself?" You snap back, in a slightly harsh tone. You didn't mean to, it's just that you wanted out of this situation, one way or another. Rin is slightly taken aback, but recovers rather quickly. He asks you again, still with that gentle tone of his.
