Chapter 12

"Thanks I guess.  I mean I've always been good at archery so it should be easy." Sada said staring in the direction of the sun.

"I meant that fact you have to work with Tsubaki."

That made Naoki chuckle.

"Tsubaki isn't that bad. He is actually pretty cool." Sada blushed slightly.

"Aw. Sada is blushing."

"No I am not!"

"Yes you are!"

"Go chase a butterfly!"

Naoki laughed at his friend's banter. He stood. "Shouldn't we be getting ready for school?"

Mitsuro stood as well. "Yes we shall. Coming Sada?" Looking over his shoulder at Sada who hadn't moved.

"Nah. I'm gonna stay out here for a while. I'll see you later."

The two left.

Sada heard a rustling in the bushes. "Tsubaki, what are you doing in the bush?" Sada stared at his friend who wasn't doing a good job of hiding in the bush, of that's what he was even doing.

"I fell into bush and couldn't be bothered moving?" Tsubaki said getting out of the bush.

"That is the lamest excuse I have ever heard. And I have heard a lot." Sada patted the spot next to him and the vampire sat next to him.

"So what are you doing out here?" Tsubaki wondered.

"Couldn't sleep, decided to sneak into the kitchen and was talking to Mitsuro and Naoki but they went back inside." Sada explained.

"Nervous about the game today?"

"Nope. You?"

"Well with you by my side why should I be?" Tsubaki bursted out laughing.

"Cheesy. And I guess you're right." Sada smiled.

The two sat there not saying anything, just enjoying each other company.

Mitsuro peered into his bedroom, he saw Lily was awake and at his desk, probably doing homework, in his uniform. He sighed before entering. He paused in the middle of the room. "Lily?"

Lily jumped. After what had happened he was sure the boy wouldn't want to talk to him. "Yes?" He said before turning around.

"We need to talk."

Lily nodded not moving from his seat.

Mitsuro paused. He actually didn't know what to say so he glared at the floor, like he was hoping the floor would have an answer.

Lily smiled. He knew the signs when the boy wanted to say something but didn't know what to say. He sighed. "I'm sorry."

Mitsuro immediately looked up, surprised that he had spoken. "Hmm?"

Lily stood and and took a few steps forward. "I'm sorry. For what I did. I realised it was wrong. I swear I won't do it again. And if you don't want to talk to me then I'll respect your decision."

"I was mad. But I'm not anymore. I'll forgive you." Purple eyes meeting red.

Lily was surprised. So surprised he didn't say anything.

"But I'm with Maya. And I would never cheat on him." Mitsuro said even though his heart ached at the words he was saying for some reason.

"I understand. But we can still be friends right?" Lily asked, hopefully.

Mitsuro smiled. "Sure. I'll just go get ready for school." and he walked back to the bathroom.

Naoki was in the bathroom when Illido woke up. He heard the two turn on so he went to investigate and saw Naoki swallowing some pills. "Naoki?" He asked puzzled. As his Niccolo wasn't known for taking drugs. Then he remembered he wasn't Niccolo.

Naoki jumped, quickly storing the bottles of pills back in the mirror cabinet. He then turned around. "Illido, what are you doing?"

Illido crossed his arms. "Are you sick or something?"

"......Don't tell your brothers please." Naoki hesitated, but something told him he could tell him anything and he wouldn't be judged.

"Of course I won't. I'm not the type to tell someone else's secret." Illido assured him.

"When I was little I got really sick. Sick to the point I was in hospital for a month. I grew up in, not a very nice house." Naoki said as he walked into the room and sat on his bed, Illido followed sitting beside him staying quiet. "My mum died when I was 5, as she was also very ill. When I was admitted to hospital, the police arrest my dad, did murder and molestation. I went into a foster home. But every so often I do get very ill. That's why I have to take pills to keep my immune system working."

"I'm so sorry about your mum and dad. Who did you dad molester?" Illido asked.

Naoki paused. "Me."

Illido's eyes widened and he immediately wrapped him in hug. "I'm sorry it happened to you. It must have been horrible."

"The past is the past. Unless you had a time machine there is no changing it." Naoki hugged him back.

Illido pulled back, not taking his hands off his shoulders. "Umm... Naoki?"

Naoki looked up green eyes locking onto red ones. "Yes Illido?"

"Would you like to go to the archery game with me? And maybe afterwards grab lunch with me?"

"Are you asking me on a date?" Naoki asked making Illido blush.

"Maybe."

Naoki smiled. For some reason that question had made him very happy. "Sure."

I am so sorry I have been quiet these last few months. I've just had a lot on my plate.

But I haven't forgotten about these stories!

I will start publishing chapters this week and next week hopefully!
