"Of course I know about it, have you met my wife?" Harry laughed.

"Fair point, I suppose." As she glanced at the flowers again, her shoulders dropped and she look up towards the ceiling unhappily.

"So, are you going?" Harry asked curiously as he settled into a chair in front of her. "Considering he inconveniently placed it on your bookstore night, it'd be understandable if you didn't go in my opinion."

She didn't answer right away, her eyes wandering the ceiling as if it would tell her the answer for her. The only other plans she had for that evening was going to a muggle bookstore, which was her usual Friday habit, but that could wait until the next day if she was honest with herself. She was surprised that she was even considering going to the dinner in the first place, but the fact that he seemed to genuinely want to apologize and made an effort to show it threw her off.

"I have no idea," She answered truthfully. "I'd be lying if I said that I wholeheartedly didn't want to go, but only mostly because I'm interested to know why he feels the need to invite me to dinner to apologize when he had already apologized after making the comment."

"Malfoy's always been strange with how he does things," He shrugged.

"Well you would know, considering how much time you spent stalking him in school," Hermione teased, looking down to grin at him.

Harry scowled at her. "I did not stalk him."

"You did, but at the same time you had a somewhat valid reason," She said with a slight laugh. "You had suspicions he was up to something, and he was."

She then shifted her weight, pushing herself off the desk and pacing back and forth. "This would be a much easier decision if it anyone else other than Malfoy."

"If you'd like, Ginny and I can go to the restaurant at the same time and keep an eye on you," Harry offered in a somewhat joking tone. "I've been meaning to take her out on a date anyway."

Hermione laughed. "I seriously doubt that Ginny would appreciate you using spying on me as an excuse to take her on a date."

"Are you kidding, she would absolutely love it! Plus, it wouldn't be spying on you, it would be spying on Malfoy."

"Yes, however because Malfoy would be with me, it would be spying on me by extension," Hermione said, pausing her pacing to look at him.

He tilted his head back and forth before sighing. "Yeah, true. But still, the offer does stand if you're worried about anything happening."

She looked back towards the flowers briefly. "Honestly...I don't think he would do anything. He's been nothing but nice the past two times we talked."

"Except when he insulted you," Harry added gently.

"Yeah, but..." She gestured towards the flowers. "He's trying to make up for it, which he's never done before."

"You sound like you're leaning towards going just because you want to see how it goes," Harry said, raising an eyebrow at her.

"Can you really blame me considering how weird his behavior is with all this?"

"Of course not, that's partially why I offered to have Ginny and I stake out the date," Harry laughed. "I'm curious to see what happens too, and you know Ginny would be."

Hermione scowled at him. "It's not a date."

"Okay, okay, to stake out the dinner," Harry corrected himself dramatically. After a laugh, he brought his leg up to rest his ankle on his knee and he looked at Hermione in a more serious manner. "Really though, it's not a bad thing if you go to this dinner; I don't see anything wrong with it but ultimately it's up to you."
