Part 34: Fiercy Blame

Start from the beginning

The whole day, only Rayaan was roaming in her mind. She couldn't help but revisit the past few days with him. Everything was going well then what did change suddenly?

Neither did they have a fight nor did she do something to upset him.

In the evening, she didn't want to go home. She was the one who was excited to go home. She had finally started to expect the new place as her home but then it had to be ruined too. She didn't want to step out from her desk. Her excitement about returning home had vanished. All she wanted was to go somewhere for a while. She wanted to have peace of mind. Away from the home. Away from him.

With a tense expression, she headed to the car waiting for her. But halfway there, she stopped. Today, it wasn't the driver but the car's owner himself.

He gestured for her to get in. She hesitated but eventually sat inside the car as soon as he spotted her. Taking a shaking breath in and making a stoic face afterward she sat inside the car.

Rayaan gave her a soft smile, but she couldn't bring herself to return it, all she could think of about those 3 days, was how he ignored her. How he behaved with her. Nodding at him she turned her face to look outside the window, distancing herself.

Rayaan tried to start conversations, but she responded only in monosyllables. He understood that she didn't want to talk to him. It scared him that they would go back to being square one. He liked this Meera, the little glimpse he got of her carefree, sweet, and childish nature. But here she was again back to being her non-approachable self. Building her own boundaries.

She hurriedly entered the house when they reached home as if he were a plague. He followed, feeling upset by the change in dynamics. Greeting his parents and Aryan, who had not gone with him that day, on his way. He entered their room to find his wife standing in front of the dressing table.

As she removed her clips and hair ties, she felt his presence behind her. She tried to escape, but he quickly circled his arm around her waist, preventing her from moving. He rested his chin on her shoulder, inhaling her fragrance.

"Are you upset? What happened?" He gently traced the contours of her neck and shoulder with the tip of his nose.

Her body tensed, unresponsive to his touch. Rayaan continued his tender ministrations. Minutes ticked by, but she remained silent, he looked at her reflection in the mirror to find her eyes tightly shut, fists clenched, and breath ragged. He was taken aback when she opened her eyes, Her glossy eyes betrayed the tears she struggled to contain.

"Meera," he whispered terrified.

His heart ached at the sight of her trembling form. Fear gnawed at him as he questioned what could have caused her this anguish.

"Meera, did someone at the office say something to you? Did something happen?" His voice trembled with genuine concern. "Please tell me. I will do anything to make it right. I'm here for you, Meera. What happened?"

He turned her towards him, cupping her face. He was concerned she could see it but she could also not forget what he did.

She jerked his hands, moving towards the washroom.

But Rayaan was in no mood to let it go, he was desperate to find what was bothering his wife, "Meera, please tell me what's wrong? " He grasped her shoulders gently.

Once again, she jerked away from his touch, her face turned away from him, tears now streaming down her cheeks. "Meera, Please" He turned her toward him, his heart beating like a drum thinking of any possible harm to his wife.

Her voice trembled as she finally spoke, "You."

"What are you saying, Meera?" His voice wavered with disbelief, unable to accept the gravity of her words.

Meera's anger flared as she glared at him intensely, tears still flowing down her cheeks like a waterfall. "What a fabulous actor you are, pretending to be a caring husband while cheating on me."She was gazing at him so intensely as if she could burn him alive with that fire.

Rayaan stood rooted to the spot, his throat dry, and his heart pounding in his chest. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. This was a side of Meera he had never seen before her anger directed squarely at him. He knew there was some misunderstanding, but the accusation left him bewildered and speechless.

"Are you surprised because I found it out so soon? Or are you trying to pretend not to know what you are doing?" She snapped at him, tears of anger and betrayal flowing freely down her cheeks.

He gulped through his dry throat, "Meera, please, let's talk," he urged, desperately. "There must be some confusion, I swear." Rayaan pleaded, his heart racing as he struggled to come to terms with the accusations.

"Confusion?" Meera's voice quivered with anger and hurt. "You wanted me to accept everything you threw at me without a word. You took me for someone meek and gullible, but I am not. I never expected anything from you except loyalty. What a fool I was, you pretended to be someone you are not and I fell for it. I was stupid to fall for your act, despite knowing the tricks your kind of species play. You're all the same, just waiting for the right opportunity to take advantage. You're not the one to blame, I am. I should have known better than to trust you. But I still have time to correct that mistake. I won't live with you after seeing everything with my own eyes, after breaking free from the facade. I won't."

Meera's breathing became heavy, and her face turned red with anger. She was on the verge of hiccupping, and her eyes held so much pain that it made even the walls of their room shiver.

Rayaan's condition was no better. While he was concerned about what had gone wrong in their relationship, she was accusing him of a grave sin. Her words were like acid, burning his ears and tearing at his heart. A single tear slipped from his eye, mirroring her pain. His heart ached looking at her condition before him but it ached harder hearing her vengeful words.

"Meera," he whispered, his voice croaked. He tried to cup her face but she jerked away his hands again.

"Don't touch me with the same hands that touched another woman. I feel disgusted." She screamed at him, and sprinted to her wardrobe, flinging her clothes around with fury as she searched for her suitcase. Her trembling hands began to push her clothes mercilessly as if packing away not just her belongings but also the shattered pieces of her trust and love.

Rayaan pulled away the suitcase looking at her madness. He was afraid she might end up hurting herself, "Meera, stop it"

"Oh right! "She hiccupped, her eyes filled with tears, and she gazed directly into his eyes. "You don't want me to go because you haven't seen me naked, right? You still haven't got the chance to enjoy your husband's rights. Poor you, since you were so busy pretending the most awesome husband in the world you hadn't got time, right? You.. "

"Enough! Shut up!" Rayaan's scream shattered the room's silence.

His eyes bore into hers with anger and deep disappointment. The veins on his neck and hands throbbed with the intensity of his emotions. He clenched his fists so tightly that his knuckles turned white.

It was the first time he had looked this angry. Rayaan had never raised his voice before, but today he had no choice. All the boundaries had been crossed.

He marched towards her and In reflex, Meera's trembling hands covered her face, and she braced herself for the impact of impending blow on her body. Her eyes remained tightly shut as her palms trembled in agony.
