Less Than Zero - Hwang Hyunjin

Chapter Nine

"I'm ready!" I announced from behind him, causing him to stop leaning on the car and turn around to look at me.

For a slight second, hyunjin just stayed frozen in place. Our eyes had met, but that's about it. He froze.

"Hello? What does it look bad?" I questioned, all of a sudden insecure of my choices in clothing.

Hyunjin shook his head, snickering quietly.

"Huh? What? I didn't say anything, let's just go now. " he quickly changed the topic and got in the drivers seat.

The entire while I felt safe, it had gotten dark and we were still driving, hyunjin decided to roll the windows up and play music. "LESS THAN ZERO - The Weeknd," the song read.

And as it played, I felt some sort of relief? Comfort? I'm not sure, but I felt very euphoric. Wearing such a nice dress, sitting in a cold car while it's hot outside, dark sky and songs playing. Euphoria had taken over me.

Soon we arrived at the mall, hyunjin parked the car and we entered, the mall was freezing cold but absolutely beautiful. Yellow lights emphazing the tension. I could feel chills running all over my body.

"Okay, so I'm not really sure where to go, but I wanna get clothes for me," I spoke as I turned to face hyunjin. He was quiet, tall, very tall, to say the least, causing me to look up when talking to him.

Hyunjin stared down at me as he was lost in a trance of thoughts.

"I have a place in mind," he said before leading the way, managing to hold my hand on the way.

As we entered, the store was filled with everything a girl could ever want, dresses, heels, makeup, everything!

As I rushed in I started grabbing whatever I liked at first sight. While I had been in the makeup aisle, hyunjin was in a different aisle until he came up behind me.

He displayed the dress in front of me eyes.

"How does this dress look?" He questioned smiling softly. I looked at the dress, it was absolutely stunning.

"Oh my, it's beautiful! Who's it for? Your girlfriend?" I questioned smirking and giggling.

"Nope, you"

He replied casually.

"O-oh? For me? Wow, thank you!" I smiled before quickly turning away. Weird!...

"Here, come with me, I would like for you to change into this dress and these heels, and then we'll buy everything else you got and head over for dinner, how's that sound?" He asked as he lead me to the change rooms.

I could feel my cheeks slightly heat up but I kept my head low, hyunjin is my dad's oldest friends son, and just a guard for me, right?

We had arrived at the fitting rooms and the lady working there directed us to one of the rooms, right before leaving she left a small comment which I remembered the entire night.

"You two are such an beautiful couple, a match made in heaven I must say!" She said before giggling and leaving.

Now I could feel my cheeks physically turning red, as my heart started skipping beats. I started feeling very hot, in this small room, just us two.

Hyunjin on the other hand didn't seem very bothered, rather just laughed it off.

"Um, can you step outside?" I kindly asked hyunjin to which he just nodded and walked out.

After taking off my dress and putting the one hyunjin bought me, I just stared at the dress on me. It looked so beautiful.

As I reached to tie the dress at the back, I realized I don't know how to tie dresses backwards, I struggled for quiet a while until hyunjin called out.

"Do you need help with anything?"

"Uh, yeah! Can you please help me tie it from the back?" I asked and soon he came in.

I felt very flustered as my full back was on display for him.

Hyunjin gently grabbed the strings as he worked his way up, tying the knots. His cold touch left shivers all over my back.

It felt like forever that he had been tying my dress from the back.

"All done!" He said and spun me around. Smiling at me. I gently smiled a flustered smile back and headed outside.

Hyunjin had already bought all the clothes I picked out.

"What was the total for the clothes?" I questioned, I had bought quiet alot of stuff.

"Don't worry about it" hyunjin casually reassured me. He held my hand as we crossed the road to the car.

Hyunjin put all the bags in the back and got in the drivers seat. I felt so happy, I couldn't explain it.

Hyunjin gently smiled at me as he started driving to the restaurant. The car was cold, but not cold to a point where'd I'd be freezing. It was refreshingly cold.
