His destination: one of his parents' old houses, a place where he could plan and act without the fear of being tracked or watched.
The next day arrived, and newly appointed Chief Justice Min held a press conference in place of a formal inaugural event. He vowed to bring justice back, promising a new era for the judiciary.
The news outlets covered his achievements and vision extensively, and Chief Justice Min basked in the glow of the media attention, sitting in his office, pleased with the recognition.
However, his moment of satisfaction was short-lived. Suddenly, the door to his office swung open, and Ga-On stormed in, taking Chief Justice Min by surprise. Ga-On swiftly bound the chief justice's hands and gagged him, leaving him unable to call for help or resist.
"Think of this as atonement for Yo-Han if you have a conscience left," Ga-On remarked with a steely resolve. He unzipped his jacket to reveal a bomb strapped to his chest, the gravity of the situation sinking in.
Ga-On squeezed his eyes shut, ready to trigger the bomb with a mere ten seconds on the timer. He waited, the seconds ticking away, with less than five remaining, when he was suddenly hit by a surprise and diffused the bomb.
On the television screen, Yo-Han began a live stream of a court proceeding. What made this broadcast astonishing was that not only the main SRF gang was present, but also their wives.
The sight of the live court, with Yo-Han very much alive and orchestrating the trial, left Ga-On stunned. In that moment, he cared little about what he had been doing, his sole focus now consumed by the reappearance of Yo-Han.
In the courtroom, Amid the chaos and the desperate scramble for the exit, Yo-Han's mind raced back to the church fire, where these very same individuals had clawed their way to safety.
The moment Ga-On arrived on the scene, the conspirators began to beg him for salvation. Ga-On, however, paid them no heed and instead implored Yo-Han to reconsider.
"Are you really going to leave Elijah to die with this trash?" Ga-On asked.
Yo-Han, with a somber expression, explained that it had to be this way. "The actor has to leave once the performance is over."
Unwilling to accept this grim fate, Ga-On offered himself, "I'll go with you."
Yo-Han's gaze lingered on Ga-On for a long, poignant moment. "You be the hero," he said, his voice filled with resignation. "I'm enough as the devil."
With a swift, abrupt movement, Yo-Han grabbed Ga-On and hurled him out into the hall, slamming the door shut behind him.
On the other side, Ga-On screamed Yo-Han's name in desperation, struggling against the determined bomb squad trying to pull him to safety.
As the seconds ticked away, the number on the bomb's timer teaches a chilling ten million. A sinister smirk played on Yo-Han's lips as he pressed the detonator.
The room erupted in a violent explosion, the force of it throwing Ga-On and the rest of the team backward. Ga-On, in a state of shock and horror, could only scream Yo-Han's name, his voice lost in the deafening chaos of the detonation.
As night descended, Ga-On made his way to the mansion, a sense of urgency propelling him to find Elijah. When he reached her room, he found her wheelchair, but she was conspicuously absent.
His search led him to Yo-Han's room, where he stumbled upon a peculiar sight. There, on the table, stood a tower of cards, meticulously stacked. A set of courtroom blueprints lay on the chair, bearing notes and annotations.
The blueprints contained a hidden message, Yo-Han's way of communicating from beyond the grave. It detailed a secret emergency exit and how the magician should vanish from the scene. The final note held a cryptic message, "My part is done. Now you have work to do."
Upon reading the message, Ga-On's relief was palpable, and he softly uttered, "I am glad you are alive."
However, the relief was short-lived. Dizziness suddenly overcame him, causing the room to spin. Ga-On's vision blurred, and he teetered on the brink of collapse.
Just before he could hit the floor, the ever-vigilant housekeeper swiftly intervened, catching him in the nick of time.
Concerned for Ga-On's well-being, the housekeeper inquired, "Ga-On, are you okay?"
However, Ga-On's vision continued to fade, and his condition worsened.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the housekeeper made a quick call to the family doctor, summoning immediate medical attention to the mansion.
