Dekisugi stood in front of his house. His gloomy eyes stared at the door lock, his parents had again left him alone.

"At this point, I am just living by myself"

He unlocked the door with a spare key.

The sun was about to set as Dekisugi looked outside the window, his book was open but he hadn't read anything for the past hour. He remembered the incident of his childhood when he started despising his loving and caring mother.

Dekisugi was helping out his mom with groceries. The market was clamorous as people walked by chattering.

The shop lady was having a small talk with Dekisugi's mom just like every other day, except for this time Dekisugi wished he hadn't heard any of that.

"Did you know Suzume committed suicide?"

"Oh my! When?"

"Yesterday, God he was such a successful young man! Heard that all the ladies were in awe of him!"

"Well, well, what can we do? His mom died begging him to marry a woman, What's with these men liking men nowadays, it's gross!"

Dekisugi snapped back to reality as his heart wrenched.

Tears fell down his cheek as he tried to concentrate on studying again.

He once tried to voice his little opinion on how low it was of her to blame Suzume for making his parents miserable but not the parents who completely forgot every inch of affection for their child just because of their fixed mindset.

Now obviously, that didn't go very well as he was scolded for supporting the unwell and possibly being a part of them.

Although Dekisugi denied it, he did argue back that it was simply inhuman to make someone feel guilty about something they had no control over. That too to such an extent that they see no point in living, cause they were nothing but a disappointment.

Well, he was rightly disciplined by his parents and sent back to the room to study.

Dekisugi tried to concentrate, but he couldn't succeed for more than 15 minutes, his eyes became moist just at the thought of how his loving mother cursed at him for taking Suzume's side. Something that he didn't even expect in his dreams.
