The First Day

"Sorry," she said, accidently touching an ice symbol on the floor. "Oops!"

It activated, bringing her straight in front of the principal.

"I failed, didn't I?"

"Believe it or not, I've seen worse," Principal Bump said, and she dropped to the floor. "Welcome, Luz, to the Hexside School of Magic and Demonics,"

He dropped the pamphlet on her head.

"Hooray," she murmured, raising a weak fist.

After ensuring Luz's safety, Bijou was summoned to the stage. She waved meekly at Principal Bump.

"Hello. Uh, I'm Bijou, but you already know that," she said hesitantly as he glanced at her.

She inhaled and exhaled before preparing herself and her bangle.

"I see you and Luz use spells by drawing them," he said, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, sir, but I primarily cast spells with this little marvel," she said, showing him her bangle. He stroked his chin.

"Interesting."

First, the light rune emerged on her bangle, then Bijou summoned up four balls of light. The light rune is then changed by the plant glyph, and four plants sprang on the floor, blooming into flowers beneath the light balls. She then took a bow, sweating slightly.

"Hmm. A bit overdone, but impressive use of magic. Welcome, Bijou, to Hexside School of Magic and Demonics." He also handed her a pamphlet, and she grinned.

"Thank you, sir," Bijou replied as she bowed.

"Oh yeah! Go, Bijou!" Luz cheered from backstage.

"Congratulations, Bijou." Hazel applauded with his two front paws.

"Hot dang! You did well there, Bij," Eda said as they walked down the aisle to leave. "Nice work, you two."

"We're going to magic school!" Luz said as they exited the theater, Bijou trailing behind them.

The next day...

Eda flew Bijou and Luz to school in blank white uniforms. However, instead of wearing boots like the average Hexside student, they continued to wear their signature footwear.

"Okay, now that we've enrolled in Hexside, the next step is to choose a magic track," Bijou concluded as she scanned the leaflet.

"We gotta go back," Luz whispered, hesitant. "This was a mistake. I'm gonna mess things up again and everyone will see, and..."

"All right. You gotta calm down," Eda told her. "What are you nervous about? You've been to school before."

"That's why I'm nervous," Luz explained. "At my human school, I didn't make a good first impression. This is a chance to be seen as something other than a screwup."

"Hey, don't worry about what those dorks think," Eda said, looking over her shoulder. "If you want my advice, walk into class and punch the first kid you see. To establish dominance. Same goes for Bij."

"Aw. We won't be doing that, but thanks."

"I'm glad Principal Bump even allowed you to visit Hexside anytime, Hazel," Bijou remarked.

"You kidding? I've been really curious since you guys went there the first time and this was a golden opportunity for me," Hazel said.

"And I bet Bij here is happy to see that Blight boy again," Eda joked, causing the girl to flush.
