(6) Star

"Please please please!?" I said. I hate surprises because it makes me impatient.

"Okay fine." He moved his arm and showed me.

"A TELESCOPE?! Oh Jake!" I hugged him before I somehow got the heavy thing out to car.

"Let me help you" he said grabbing it.

We closed the the truck and walked to the top of the hill. I set up the telescope since I have always wanted one and have watched so many videos about telescopes since I'm according to Zander "Space nerd."

I looked into the telescope and was angling it to see something.

"Jake this is a really high quality telescope.. how much was it?" I look at Jake.

"Don't worry about that, how's the telescope."

"Jake.." I said.

"It wasn't that much." Jake replied to me, I sighed.

"so how much was it?" He mumbled it, I tilted my head.

"It was about three hundred dollars.." I looked at him shocked.

"Jake! I can't accept this, this is so expensive!" i said.
"It's okay! I've been saving for awhile, and my part time job pays good!" I felt a little guilty. He sat next to me while I was in front the telescope.

"It's so expensive, I can't accept it." I said to him, he smiled.

"It's okay Hailey, I know you've wanted one of these for months. I love giving you gifts!" I sighed "fine but I will buy you something expensive too!" Jake chuckled.

"Ok princess" I smiled. I positioned the telescope to find the moon.

"Wanna see something cool?"  I let Jake look into the telescope.

"Woah!" He looked into the telescope.

"Isn't it so cool! You can see it so closely!" I said fangirling. I looked into the telescope again, I just sorta moved it around, looking at stars and other cool stuff for a few seconds.

"It sure is, my star."

I froze.

My star.

My star...

That ... that nickname sounds so familiar, like my dad called me that.. no no it wasn't him, was it Shannon? No...
————-super duper cool and silly flash back! To when Cutie patootie Hailey is 4 years old and this is narrated by Hailey.——————————————

I was walking with my dad down a corridor, my dad was quiet. I held his hand, I was quite short so my hand was all the way up attempting to old my 5,9 foot dad's hand. He was almost lifting me.

We made it to a room and he opened it. There, on a hospital bed.. was my mom. I remember I smiled and ran to the best and attempted to get onto the bed. My mom pulled me onto the hospital bed, my dad sat on the bed next to us.

"Hello Mi Star.." I remember giggling. She hugged me, "My star, I need to tell you something." I tilted my head, "I won't be here anymore.."

"Will you be back?"  I remember when I saw her eyes. She was about to cry.

"No.. No mi star. I'm sorry, but I need you to be strong, okay?" I nodded.

"Okay mommy!" She then took out her two star hair clips, she handed the two to me. It was her signature dark blue clips. I smiled, she then took off her pink jacket.

"Her my star, take this as well." She put it on me, it was obviously too big for me.

"Mommy, this doesn't fit me." I said, waving the big sleeves in the air, my mom and dad chuckled.

"Don't worry Star, you'll grow into one day." She smiled. She then grabbed the star clips from my hand, she clipped them in the sides of my head.

"You look lovely my star..." my mom said lightly, she weakly twirled my hair.

That was the last happy moment I had with my family.

Soon after that my mom flatlined.

In other words she died.

I still remember my dad being pushed out by the doctors while he held me.

I remember my dad crying while hugging me. I couldn't cry, I tried but I only felt shock. It felt like my mother was hugging me with her jacket.

"Mom.."

..

"Hailey."

"Hailey, my star?"

"HAILEY!"

I was suddenly brought back to reality.

"Whats wrong?!" He said, I realized I was crying. I covered my face.

"It's nothing." I said.

"Hailey if your crying, your not fine." He said, hugging me. "What happened."

"It's just.. my mom, she would call me 'my star' and it brought me back memories of her."

"I won't call you that if it gives you bad memories."

"No no! It's fine, I actually like it, it makes me feel better." He kissed my cheek, he replied.

"Okay star."  I looked at the time on my phone, "oh crap it's almost midnight!" I said.

"Aww I don't wanna leave you.." he hugged me tighter.

"Come on Jake, let's pack the telescope and head home."

"Ok.."

We packed the telescope and we put it in the back of his car.

"Thank you again Jake." I gave him a peck on the lips and got into the car. I think he got flustered because he took a few seconds to get in the car.

We soon drove home.
