"Why can't you talk to me? Aren't you a nurse?"

"I am, yes, but..." The woman takes a deep breath and shakes her head, "I'll get someone else."

Before Chiara can object, the nurse leaves the room, closing the door tightly behind her. Chiara silently curses to herself and falls back onto her bed, positive that the woman's reaction to her mentioning Violeta was a bad thing. She's certain that when the door opens again, two police officers with long faces will tell her that something terrible had happened.

Chiara tries not to think about it too much, because maybe she's wrong. Maybe the door will open and Violeta will be there with a wide smile and lay beside her in bed, telling her that everything's going to be just fine. The thought brings a soft smile to Chiara's lips and she turns her head to look out the window.

The only problem is that there is no window. Chiara only now notices that there are actually no windows anywhere in the room - just blank, white walls. Even the door itself doesn't have a window, but rather three heavy-duty looking locks running down the side.

Chiara presses her nurse button again when she starts to feel claustrophobic in the confined room.

The door opens no more than two seconds later and a woman in a grey suit enters, a Visitor pass clipped to her pocket.

"Are you a doctor?"

The woman shakes her head, "No, no... I'm a detective."

Chiara swallows nervously, "A detective?"

"That's correct. Do you know why you're in here, Chiara?"

Chiara nods, "Is Violeta okay?"

"Violeta is fine," The woman reassures and Chiara feels a weight lifted off of her shoulders almost instantly. She settles back into her bed and watches as the woman takes a seat beside her, "So you remember what happened, then? Why don't you walk me through it?"

"I, uh... I was at a party for the launch of my friends Martin and Juanjo's new campaign they have been working on. It's all about working with homeless gay youth to get them set up in - well, I guess that's not important. Anyway, I was with my girlfriend -"

"Violeta."

"Yeah, Violeta," Chiara nods, "my friend Martin still had my necklace, so I went to him to get it back it and when I came back, there was this woman there - Buika. She'd been leaving weird comments on Violeta's content for a while now and... well, I don't know the specifics of it, but she ended up there and then she shot me and ran off."

"You saw her run off?"

"No, I... I guess I heard her," Chiara shrugs, "What's your name again?"

"Oh, I'm so sorry about that, I think I forgot to tell you," The detective shakes her head, "My name is Bea. Well, Beatriz Fernández, but Bea is fine."
