Thank you for bringing me here tonight. I'm having the most amazing time. But then again, I always do with you." You smiled and kissed your boyfriend's cheek.

He sent you a bright smile and held your hand a little tighter as you continued to walk together and enjoy this beautiful evening.

Now that it's almost spring, the weather is starting to get warmer and the sun is out later and it makes the days a little brighter and better.

Jisung decided that since you both had the evening off, it was the perfect weather for a fun few hours out.

Neither of you had anywhere, in particular, to go to in mind but that was alright, it just meant more time to hold his hand and enjoy the sun on your shoulders.

"Me too, my love," He smiled and kissed your hand.

You took a few more steps before something caught your eye.

"Wait, baby," You said to him as you stopped walking. "A cafe! Can we go in here?"

Jisung couldn't say no to you.

Not when you look so happy and you're sending him that precious smile that makes him fall even harder for you every time he sees it.

"Absolutely." He said and walked into the cafe with you. "What do you want, my love? Something here catch your eye?"

You nodded and pointed to the sweet drink on the menu and Jisung nodded, happy to get it for you.

Seeing that there were a few people ahead of you in line and it would be a few minutes, he let your hand go but only so he could wrap his arms around you and hold you from behind.

He didn't care if anyone recognized him or saw the sweet moments between you as he hugged you and kissed your shoulder, he just wanted to be with you in these moments forever.

You smiled as he kissed your neck softly.

You turned your head so you could kiss his lips but as soon as you did, the door to the cafe opened and your heart dropped upon seeing the familiar face.

"Jisung?"

"Yeah?" He spoke softly, his lips touching your shoulder softly once more.

"Can we find another cafe to go to?" You asked.

Jisung noticed that you were trembling and he sensed the anxiety in your voice.

"What's the matter?" He asked worriedly.

"He's here." You whispered.

Your ex was right there behind you and Jisung but he had his headphones in and his eyes on his phone so he hadn't noticed you just yet.

But it was only a matter of time before he did and the thought sent a shiver down your spine.

You never thought you'd see him again, you hoped you never would.

That was such a horrible time in your life and you thought you'd escaped from it and him.

You thought you'd escaped from the traumatic things he put you through and the seemingly endless and intense abuse.

But here he is now, right behind you.

And you haven't felt this fearful in a long time.

Jisung turned his head slightly and looked out of the corners of his eyes to see the guy behind him.

"My ex."

"The one that hurt you?" He asked and you nodded before watching Jisung become furious. "I'm going to kill him!"

"No, no. Don't. Please. I just want to go." You said as you blinked away your tears and swallowed the lump in your throat.

Jisung was enraged and he wanted to put your ex through the same pain he'd put you through because, in his eyes, he deserved some kind of punishment for hurting you the way he had for so long.

But seeing you so anxious and so afraid while you beg him to leave with you broke his heart and his only concern in that moment was getting you far away from your ex.

"Okay. It's alright, baby, I've got you." Jisung assured with a soft voice before gently grabbing your hand and trying to walk out.

But it was hard to sneak past your ex who stood right in front of the door.

And to your horror, you watched him look at you.

"Y/N," He said as his eyes met your scared ones. "I didn't expect to see you here."

He stepped closer to you and you took a few steps back instinctively.

"Oh, come on. Don't do that. It's not very nice. Just say hi to me. Give me a hug, darling."

"Don't call her darling," Jisung warned as he stepped in front of you. "And you won't be laying a single finger on her. I'll break them before I let you do that."

Your ex scoffed and shook his head as he stared at your angry boyfriend.

"Yeah? Who are you, tough man?"

"Her boyfriend."

"Yeah? Last time I checked, I was her boyfriend." Your ex angrily replied.

"Not anymore. She left you and I'm so proud of her for doing so. She deserves so much better than you. Better than a coward who puts his hands on a woman and treats her like dirt on the ground!"

Jisung was fuming, his fists beginning to clench.

"I swear, you better leave her alone. This better be the last time she ever sees you. Because I swear, I will make you regret it if you don't leave her alone." Jisung warned as he clenched his jaw. "Get out of here!"

Your ex looked at you, upsetting Jisung even more.

"Don't look at her. I'm talking to you, not her." Jisung said. "I mean it. Touch even a hair on her head and you're done."

Your ex was much bigger than Jisung and you, as well.

That was one thing he used to use against you, finding it easy to intimidate you because he is much stronger and much bigger than you are and that scared you when he was so mean and so angry.

"Get out or I swear, I'm going to make you regret every single thing you have ever done to her."

Despite your ex's intimidating demeanor, he knew Jisung meant business and he could see by the look in his eyes that he was serious.

"Whatever. Screw you both." He said before walking out.

He wouldn't ever admit it but Jisung had given him a good scare and he didn't want to mess with him.

You breathed out a sigh of relief when he left and Jisung wrapped you in his arms.

"Are you okay, baby?" He asked as he held you tight.

"I'm okay. Just a little shaken up. Everything came back to me in that moment." You said before pulling away to look at him. "But I'm okay. Because I have you to protect me and keep me safe. My hero."

You gave him a loving kiss and he smiled against your lips.

"I'd do anything for you, Y/N. I love you. I won't ever let anyone hurt you." He promised. "You will always be safe with me."

"I know." You said as you hugged him tightly and smiled to yourself because you knew you were truly loved and very lucky.
