Super Mutant: I love a good fight!
(A super mutant throws a desk, but Nico and James duck under and retaliate with some assault rifle bullets)
(The super mutants start shooting with their hunting rifles, but they still seem to be getting cut down quickly)
(The super mutants dig into one particular spot where the bullets don't seem to reach them easily)
Nico: Keep them pinned, I'll try and flank them!
James: Be careful!
(James provides some cover fire while Nico runs to a far hallway that leads to the super mutant's position)
(Nico whistles to get the super mutant's attention, and the super mutants all get shredded up by Nico's assault rifle bullets)
James: Behind you!
(A super mutant tries to grab Nico, but he ducks as James hits it with a burst of assault rifle bullets. The mutant falls dead)
(A final super mutant in heavy armor comes charging at Nico and James, but it doesn't seem to be affected by the bullets)
(James and Nico both roll out of the way as the super mutant runs at them. They both shoot the super mutant from behind while it's stunned, but then it goes for them again)
(Nico waits until the last second and dodges out of the way, letting the super mutant hit a wall. He then shoots a pipe, making it burst in the super mutant's face, stunning it)
(James gets onto a desk and aims his assault rifle. He pulls the trigger and headshots the final super mutant, and with a heavy thud, it falls to the ground)
(Nico and James fist bump and laugh)
James: I'm proud of you, Nico. Lets get everyone else in here
(Nico and James open the door to the jefferson memorial, letting Dr Li and her scientists in)
James: Here we are. This is where it all began. Do you remember your mother's favorite passage?
Nico: "I am the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life"
James: Yes. This is what it all means. The water, the purifier, THIS is the water of life. Your mother's dream. No point in wasting time. Lets get to work. There's much to be done here. The project was abandoned shortly after you were born. Things have deteriorated around here since then, and there's been some flooding. I'll need you to get to the flood control pumps and activate them so we can clear out the water and reach the mainframe. Can I count on you?
Nico: Of course. Just tell me where I need to go
James: The automatic doors sealed when the flooding occurred, so you'll have to use the access tunnel to reach the pumps
(The access tunnels are dark and tight spaces, but there's nothing dangerous inside. Nico takes a walk through the tunnels and uses the panel to activate the flood control pumps)
Intercom (James): Great work on the pumps. Hurry back and I'll give you the fuses you need
(Nico heads back up to the lab, and he is greeted by James with a prideful look on his face)
James: I've been hearing good things about you. Is it true? Did you really disarm the bomb in megaton and wipe out the tenpenny crime syndicate?
Nico: I did
James: You put yourself in harm's way to protect those who can't protect themselves. I'm very proud of you. Just please be careful out there. This is a very dangerous world. Far more dangerous than anyone in the vault knows. Anyway, the flooding shorted out some of the fuse boxes downstairs, including the one that controls the automatic doors. Here, take these fuses
(James hands Nico come fuses)
James: The box is back down in the sub basement. Near the eastern end of the level. Once the fuse boxes are replaced, you'll be able to get to the mainframe
(Nico goes into the sub basement, where the area is dark, but not dangerous. He finds the fuse box after a little bit of looking, and he replaces the busted fuses with the fresh ones)
Intercom (James): With the fuses in place, you should be able to access the mainframe. No need to head back to the control room, just head right there
(Nico walks down the halls, and sure enough, the automatic doors are open. He heads through and he finds a room with a huge computer. He activates the mainframe power switch, making the screen change from red to green)
Intercom (James): You've done it! It'll be just a few minutes before we can access the mainframe. You're in the security level right now. It's full of holding tanks for the water, as well as our processing equipment and power systems. You're doing great down there. Keep up the good work, Nico
Nico: Thanks, dad
Intercom (James): There are a few minor repairs still to be made in the control room, but we have it under control. What I want you to worry about is the intake pipes. Janice says there's blockage in one of them. It's on your way back. Head back up to the museum level and give me a call on the intercom when you get there
(Nico heads up some stairs and through a metal door, where he finds a room that's pretty wrecked up. He crawls under some debris to be able to get through a doorway, and he finds the entrance to a pipe)
(Nico goes slides down the pipe, where he finds the blocked pipe and adjusts it accordingly. But then he hears some rotors in the distance. When he looks up, he sees some enclave vertibirds)
Nico: Huh?
(Nico sprints back to the lab, where he finds everyone confused and panicking)
James: Everyone, it seems we have visitors. I don't know who they are or what they want. Please remain in your designated areas while we sort this out
Dr. Li: Wait.. Oh no, it's the enclave!
James: The enclave? What are they doing here? Madison, lock the door!
